Are you sure? I had a suspicion but didn't see any details. Also the time seemed like it was legitimate.
It's the second time you post this and not give a source for us to verify. For now we can simply say Ubisoft pulled a BS move on us. (why the f would I want ads if I paid for it? no way in heck I'm paying again)
^ Removing ads is not the same as Free-to-Play. Touch Arcade app shows price was dropped to free today. Looking at App Store page, it shows $0.99 ad removal IAP. But yeah, full price and ads is super lame. EDIT: Just downloaded and tried. Played the first level and then quit to main screen. After confirming to quit, a 30-second ad for War Dragon popped up. Can't bypass. You have to sit through the entire thing. I deleted this from my phone immediately thereafter.
Just as I feared... BS move on Ubisoft's side. I've saved the previous version on my drive so I am sure that I can play the RIGHT version that I paid for, and not this thing.
Just get an adblocker like Weblock, guys. It means that a bunch of "free" games become actually free games.
I have the paid version and I have downloaded this one, clicked on "restore purchases" in the main screen and the ads are gone. Stop spreading wrong info. No bullshit move was pulled.
This IS the paid version. When I click on "Restore Purchases", it says "Nothing to Restore". When I click on the "No Ads" sign, it asks me to pay $0.99. I'm fine with a free model where you have IAP to eliminate ads. The point here is that the price of the game is $4.99, and there is STILL an IAP to eliminate ads.
I bought the Android version and now I get adverts and an option to pay to remove them.retore purchases says no purchases. I emails the dev to let them know.
I used to play this on the Sega Mega Drive (or something similar) and was awesome back then. Now seeing all those pixels turns me off a bit..
Article on Touch Arcade indicates that coolpepper43 is correct. It has permanently gone free with ads.
