It was once paid but seems to have dropped on the 19th December 2011. So yeah, quite some time really!

Exact-Psience, That doesn't sound good. The point is that Ninja Fishing was released in 2011, but Ridiculous Fishing - in 2013. So its more like Ridiculous Fishing cloned Ninja...
Ridiculous fishing's concept was stolen before they had a chance to release their game. I read this in a TA article not too long ago.
Ridiculous Fishing began as a flash game called Radical Fishing in 2010. The devs began porting it to ios but the clone "ninja fishing" beat them to the punch, becoming a huge hit. It completely demotivated the original devs, so 2 or 3 years later, with the help of their friends, they finally ported the original with new art and a new name ("ridiculous" instead of "radical") and even added the subtitle "A Tale of Redemption". It went on to become a huge success and win tons of awards, thus finally stepping out of the shadow of the clone and kicking Ninja Fishing's unoriginal ass once and for all.
I have room on my device for Ridiculous Fishing AND Ninja Fishing. Both great game IMO. But ya, RF is far superior. It has a certain charm that NF could never replicate.
