This isn't available in Lebanon either and I'm guessing it won't be until the 29th or whenever the movie is released here. The game looks interesting though. I used to read those books monthly, good old R.L. always had a branch series or sequel pumping out, and I can say I never read one that I didn't like. NOEN Well-Known Member Jul 31, 2012 3,245 0 0 U.S. #9 NOEN, Oct 19, 2015 Looks like they kinda went with the whole FNAF theme with surviving the night and all the jump scares. I'll pick it up and give it a go. There hasn't been too many scary games released this Halloween yet. NOEN Well-Known Member Jul 31, 2012 3,245 0 0 U.S. #16 NOEN, Oct 21, 2015 Sorry bout that. I was trying to wrap up a few games at the same time. Ok, so far I've gotten about half way through this game and I'm actually liking it. I thought at first it was going to be a FNAF clone, but it's not. The only thing that's similar between the two are the little jump scare animations when your caught. (I'll try and keep this spoiler free.)It's pretty much a mild Point &Click game. You can travel throughout this house your in, (I'm keeping it pretty vague) but you can't move freely. You can only move to predetermined spots in each room/hallway/ect., but you can use a virtual joystick to look wherever. Your pretty much looking for clues and following the story (Which has full voice acting) and trying to get where you need to go and snoop around while these creatures are creeping around the house. You can usually determine where the monsters are by listening for them. When one is close, you need to hide from them. There are also predetermined "hiding spots" in different areas in the house. This is when it kind of starts getting a little scary because while your hiding, there is a "look" button where you can pop your head out and peek to see where they are at. Peek at the wrong time or get caught in an area with no hiding spot and BOOM! Jump Scare!! It's usually a close up of the monster grabbing at you and a loud shriek. It actually made me jump a couple times. Visually, the game looks pretty good. It's not the best looking game I've seen, but it's decent. It has some nice shadowing and cool lighting effects and the soundtrack really sets the mood and tension. I guess my only concern is the length. There are 6 chapters and I got through the first chapter in ten minutes, the second in twenty. I'm on the third now and the "missions" seem to be getting longer/tougher, but I'm also kind of taking my time and being cautious. I'm sure if you went in all willy-nilly and weren't really exploring and taking your time, you might be able to speed through it. Again, I'm not finished, so anything can happen. Two thousand more chapters could pop up after I finish the sixth. Lol. All in all, it's been pretty fun so far. I was a little bummed at first with the predetermined areas to walk to, but after the first chapter, I got used to it and was able to use it to my advantage. I'd say if your a Goosebumps fan or are looking for a mildly scary game, you'll probably really dig this. It's probably not going to be for everybody. Don't go in expecting a super scary game. I will say that I've jumped a couple times, but it all depends on how your playing. I was sitting by myself at night with the lights off, so I'm sure that helped. I'd say that the game is worth the price. It's got full voice acting by Jack Black, it looks good and is (kinda) scary. I'm not saying it's a "must have". I'm pretty much saying that it's not bad. So far it's looking like a 3.5/5 for me, but we'll see when I wrap up. I'll leave impressions on the second half once I'm finished. I just came back from seeing the movie, it was great, so I wanted to try this. God, its terrible. It looks like shit, controls terribly, its designed terribly and its repetitive. Totally not worth the price. As a Goosebumps fan, I do not recommend this to neither gamers nor fans. 2/5 - good idea, bad execution. (You must log in or sign up to post here.)
