Super Ninja Therapy official launch st to Thursday, Nov 8th!.

What if instead of paying your psychologist, numerologist or any other nonsense-ologist, you could access the ancient knowledge of Ninja Therapy sessions, where you could take your anger into therapeutic realms?
What if these sessions were free?

Yes, we are all starving for a fast paced fighting game for iPhone, with inspiration drawn from classics such as Karateka, Street Fighter, Double Dragon, and modern classics such as Super Crate Box.

    Some key features:
    - Free Ninja Therapy sessions for your raging soul
    - Game Center integration with leaderboard and achievements
    - 10+ different enemy types to fight: Samurai, Assassin, Wrestler, Red Monk, Sushi-chef, Chainsaw teenage girl and more
    - Detailed, rich pixel art, with backgrounds inspired by picturesque Japan
    - Awesome original chiptune music by Gisle Martens Meyer, aka Ninja 9000
    - 30+ screens of endless play mode
    - Upgrade your ninja's super special weapons
    - In App Purchases for virtual currency, for those who need a boost in their Goldies bank balance. That's right, but before you hang us on the nearest pixel tree, please read the FAQ below.

    Game FAQ:

Q: What’s the story with virtual currency? why not a proper paid game and not this In-App nonsense?

A: Thanks for asking. Although many gamers see this as a breach of the core gamer constitution, chapter 5, paragraph 2a, we are happy to defend our cause. The battle for indie development is tough and long, but we believe this way we can actually support ourselves, stay afloat and possibly even achieve returns for our immense investment and efforts. Although some of you may think we are happy to work for nothing, we are not. At least some of us.

Q: So it's play to win, right?

A: Nope, the game was built with the gamer community in mind, so it's definitely possible to enjoy it without purchasing any more money. The IAP is for the people who have a day job, 3 kids, and a cat that pisses on the carpet every sunday morning, but even they cannot win without developing their actual fighting skills.

    Q: What about iCade support?

A: This is currently in the works, will be added very soon.

Q: Why did you make this game so hard?

A: Tough question. we truly believe the therapeutic process of failing is an important part of playing games. Actually, in some games the joy of dying can be a good match for the fun of winning. Taking on the tradition of games such as Super Crate Box, we believe our players deserve a good bit of slappin’. For their loyalty.

Q: My 3 y.o. nephew played the game and found it too hard. What the heck?

A: The game is not for kids. but you can get our previous game, Tiny Fireman, which is 100% child safe, and a quality title in its own merit.

    So,

We are excited about the game and wanted to share some of the early info to start a dialogue with our community.

Here's a couple of screenshots of the current state of the game:

This lucky ninja got a Goldies purse to collect, only there are a few enemies along the way.

Would be awesome to read your suggestions, feedback and criticism.

The screen shot looks really nice. But I'd say the buttons need to be the other way around (moving on the left side)
I'll gladly sign up for a beta test as I love giving feedback on games.

Yeah those button placements were the first thing to come to my mind when I saw the screenshots! I really need the arrows the be on the left side. Also, I'm up for a beta test too! :)

It looks nice, but a little simple. I think a little more background color would complement the retro 8-bit style of the game nicely, and consider putting an option that allows you to have the buttons be over the actual gameplay, only have the buttons be transparent/translucent. It sounds like a great concept, though. If you need a beta tester, I'd be happy to provide feedback.

Love the graphics, so will it be lots of different single screens ? I remember Shao Lins Road back in the 80's, that worked well and this 'slightly' reminds me of it.

The graphics look fine to me, great retro look, obviously the left/right buttons move as people have pointed out. But could be a great little game

Ah, I like that the control buttons are now over the actual gameplay. Much better than having them be in a separate bar below. Keep up the good work!

A new screen from the game:

    Recent additions:

3 new enemies, improved platforms engine, and a level editor.

I'm thinking seriously about adding an in-app level editor, it can add a lot of cool value to the game, now I have to see whether it can be accomplished on time for delivery with the first version.

Working on a level editor -

This functionality is useful for testing various backgrounds and level designs in early stage.

Working on new levels and backgrounds.

The game now has quite a bit of variety.

    Enemies:
    - Dagger
    - Katana samurai
    - Spear woman
    - Red monk
    - Wrestler
    - Sushi Chef
    - Chainsaw girl

Each has its own style of attacks, attributes and look.

The action is insane at parts, can't wait to edit a little gameplay footage video for your enjoyment!

    Game Center is now supported!

We are also working on iCloud integration so you can share between devices.

Gotta admit I'm not really a fan of those movement animations... Maybe make them a little bit more lifelike? Otherwise looks good!
