I know this probably isn't the place for such a question; however, I figured someone here would know the answer. How do you delete saved text message data in ios 7? I know how to delete messages within the text message app itself; however, when I navigate to settings and then to the usage option and lastly to the text message icon it says that I have 231mb dedicated to text data with the word saved in parenthesis? This is still the case even if I delete all of my text messages. I don't see an option for deleting this data eventhough I don't want to waste 231 mb of space when I would rather devote that space to games. This is a concern because the amount of data will increase theoretically as I text more in the future, therefore wasting memory unnecessarily. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
I had the same problem, what you do is go to settings then general then usage then tap messages and delete data and all your saved messages will be gone
It seems crazy to me that your device will just keep saving this data without giving you an option to delete. This can just use up all your space and you can do nothing about it.
You can't delete the data. It's another tactic from Apple to force you to buy the higher priced iPhones (32gb/64gb) in the future.
Well, i sure am glad i never text anyone then. Even without ever using it my ipad says i have 787kb used, which is probably a note from apple welcoming me to the app and encouraging lots of use.
