  1. Hi all,

Nigel here from Distinctive. Over the last 2 months we've been very hard at work on our new iPhone game.

Today we are giving you a sneak preview of the game and showing a few screen shots with much more information to come over the next couple of weeks.

You are a search and rescue controller that must use the helicopters at your disposal in the most efficient way possible to save as many people as possible.

Using the natural touchscreen control system that you've all experienced on Flight Control and Harbour Master we've created a great game that offers something new over these existing games.

    Features:
Three levels at launch with more in future updates.
    Multiple helicopter types.
Global highscore tables with All-time and Weekly tables.
    Email challenge

Price at launch will be $0.99 and should launch mid-August.

Hope you all like the concept and the graphics... :)

Maybe it's me but I think you could use less green.

    Anyway, it looks interesting.

    green grass
    green base
    green health bars
    green 'rescue me' target

  5. OK, fair point! :)

I'll see what we can do about that. I think it comes from living in England - 'green and pleasant land'.

This game sounds and looks really good. I like that you are releasing at least 3 levels right from the start and the email challenge option. Are you going to be releasing a preview video soon? I like being able to see the games in action.

ha ha, lol, hmmm, if i designed a game based on that premise, it would be all browns :p

i was just going to suggest maybe a less primary green for the grass area and using purple, yellow, blue/light blue and orange for the targets, bases, etc as alternate colors

This does look quite fun, and unique for it's genre.

I like the art direction so far, looking good. But yeah, perhaps mix up the colors a bit. Good luck guys.

  11. Hi all,

Thanks for your feedback so far.

We've taken on board your comments about the game having too much green and we've changed the fuel bar, helipad and some other subtleties.

Right now I'd like some help in naming the 3 levels. Below are the images of the 3 levels that the game will launch with. What I'd like is for people to suggest names for levels and we'll select a short list of 2 names per level of the names we like best. Each person that suggests a level name that makes it onto the short list will receive a promo code for the game once it's released. And, of course, if your level name makes it into the game then we'll add your name to the game credits!

    So please, suggest away!

I wanted to come up with some of my own but, dang it, these are so punny they hurt!

Are there differences in these maps beyond the obvious ones of terrain? I mean does, for example, map #3's river have a stronger current than the rivers in maps #1 and #2?
