Hi Everyone, I am founder/creative director at Take10 Animation Studios and today I would like to introduce our newest game "Wild Gunman" for the ios. This game has been an idea for quite some time now and finally we are able to start the process of bringing this game to life. We are a team of two animators and looking to make this game the best that it can be. Not just fun for us to play but for all of you as well. With that said, we'll be taking suggestions/ideas to improve the game. We'll be using this thread to post work in progress, concept sketches, and just about anything we can think of. But first here's a little bit more about the game. Wild Gunman will be an endless 2D western platformer in the style of a shoot 'em up type of game. The object of the game will be to take control of the villian and rob the town's banks. Then try to get out of dodge without getting killed. The more banks you rob the higher the bounty on your head and the more posse's, gangs, sheriffs, and even indians will try to stop you. You'll have your trusty sidekick to get out of each town much faster but as you start to take damage you'll eventually end up on foot thus making it much easier to get killed. We are in early stages of the game. Most of the art assets and animations are complete but we want to add more environments. So far we have one which you see in the images. Since this game will be set in the wild west we can really add more backgrounds and make this game that much better. For reference we are looking at plenty of old western movies. We even added a few familiar town names which you might recognize if you are a fan of western films. There will be lots of weapons to unlock as you progress further into the game. All of them can be unlocked simply by playing through the game. We might add a few in app purchases but we are still debating over that since I myself prefer no in app purchases. That's why we are here. We want to hear from all of you, the players, of what you would like to see in the game. It can be anything from characters in the game, different weapons, control schemes, perks, in app purchases, ads/no ads, should the game be free to play or should it be priced and so on. We'll also be taking suggestions of the type of game to make. Maybe not a platformer? We want to hear from you so feel free to post your thoughts, suggestions, and ideas for the game. Love platformers, the screenshots look good. Only criticism is i cant see any platforms yet to jump on
Thanks. We really won't be adding any platforms to jump on to. Even though this is a platformer type of game we think it'll just be weird having floating platforms in mid air. This is a western and even though it's super cartoony we still want to keep a sense of realism in the game. Instead we are going to add random objects which you'll have to jump over such as barrels and tumbleweeds. Also players will get a chance to rob a train which will allow you to jump from platform to platform on top of the train.
It really is wild gunman. I was a crack shot at this. You have to use your hands? Thats like a babys toy.
New Screenshot Character player will now be able to jump onto rooftops. That means that enemies will be able to do the same.
Main Menu Here you can see what the main menu will look like on all ios devices. Quality here is a bit low.
Coding v1 We've started coding for Wild Gunman. It's in the very early stages. Here's a couple snapshots from the game engine. Currently adding in the character control and animations. Here's a list of the animations that will be included. 1. Idle 2. Run 3. Jump 4. Double Jump (character will be able to jump off the horse anytime) 5. Shoot 6. Wild Gunman Demo Hey Folks, Been a few months since I've posted anything about the game. So here's an update on what's going on with Wild Gunman. A lot has happened since I last posted here. We are close to finishing up a demo. We will also be launching a Kickstarter campaign in January 2015. More info on that later. For those who are interested in play testing the demo when it's ready please visit our site here and join the mailing list. Those who join will be the first to play the demo before anyone else. In the meantime here's a few boss characters from the game. A man of the law, a keeper of peace, his only job is to enforce order. Think twice before robbing from his town. The Bandito or Bandit's only purpose is to rob and kill you. Not necessarily in that order. He is always one step behind you and will pop up when you least expect it. The KING of bosses. You will not survive.
