    UPDATE:
    BeyondDead is now live on itunes!

    for those wondering, if I do well with sales I will be able to port to android as well! :)

    wow... looks great!

    (Favorite game OF ALL TIME = Metroid II - Ima jump all over this when it's released!)

    Any idea of a release date? or are you guys not that far along?

    This is the map screen. from here you can find out your current room, check your mission status, and later on you can find "JUMP-PADS" which allow you to jump from any room with a active jump pad to the other making travel easier.

    The Space merchant! this guy is a obviously a nod to RE4's merchant :) if you enter a room with the space merchant you can upgrade/modify your weapons, assuming you have collected enough power cells

    The menu screen!
    you can have up to 4 weapons at a time in your secondary weapon box(that's the bar on the right hand side) you just drag and drop them!

    Wow! How did I miss this thread? Just watched the trailer and it looks freakin awesome! I must say nice work. The artwork has a nice dark atmosphere to it.

    I missed it too! Metroid fusion is probably my fav game of all time(behind very zelda game :D). This looks great! Can't wait? late january release I suppose?

    What is the estimated release timeframe? Will this be compatable with 3GS (twitter intro suggests iPhone 4)?

    I'll be getting my hands on a 3GS soon, so I can test it.

    Thanks for the questions guys.

    The control system is customizable,
    you can have all touch screen, all buttons, or some of each.

    IN FULL TOUCH SCREEN:
    LEFT SIDE OF THE SCREEN: you can touch anywhere on the left side to walk/run (depending on how far you drag your thumb from the touch point) drag your thumb up or down to change the angle of your weapon

    RIGHT SIDE OF THE SCREEN: You can touch anywhere on the right to fire your main weapon, drag your thumb up to jump, and drag your thumb down to take the safety of heavy weapons

    you can also have the classic D-pad and action and jump buttons.
    or a combo such as: touch screen to walk/aim and buttons to shoot/jump

    Normally I'm a fan of the old school D-pad, but the all touch screen mode actually feels pretty intuitive and works well with the ipad too. I'll post a video of the controls shortly

    love anything that looks like metroid, and this defnitely does.

    looking forward to it. would love iControlpad/iCade support but not sure that controls could be mapped over. If you chose iCP only might be possible with dual stick setup, but only one other dev has done native iCP support.

    Going to get this anyway, but theres very few good games for my iControlpad while the 4s remains unjailbroken

    Wow this looks really amazing you guys have done a great job so far! I am really glad that you have the customizable control system setup since it's normally the controls that really make or break games on the iphone. I'm really excited for this game now glad I checked out the thread and made sure to follow you guys on twitter.
    How long are you planning on making this?

    The video looks really great I'm really happy to see it's coming a long so well I can't wait to play it! With the first gun the bullets looked a bit too slow compared to your walking and dashing speed.

    @Daver16 yes they are:)
    The reason is because almost every weapon can be upgraded in different ways (I'll show a video soon)
    those little green orbs you collect give back a small amount of health and ammo, but also work as cash in the shop. the main gun has 3 stages of reload speed, bullet speed, and bullet power
