Looks awesome :D Two questions. Universal? Relative touch control? (if so I hope it magnifies finger movement or has sensitivity settings to allow it since that finally seems to be the answer for traditional horizontal shmup controls on iOS)

Edit: just read about the controls. So it's only up/down and shoot. Is the movement tilt or arrows? Still sounds cool. Hope it's universal.

    1) yes, universal
    2) and for controls: we like to call it "simplified controls". We are taking a risk with the controls.

The main idea behind the game was to put back the fast-trigger finger action. So there is no auto-fire in this game, the faster your thumb hits that fire button, the faster you shoot and kill (like in the good old "smash your joystick" days). And movement is kept to simplified up and down only.

We didn't like all that action-blocking finger-moving stuff in other shooters, and we are confident this game rocks with this simplified control scheme, our beta testers loved it !

That's why I mentioned the magnified relative touch. Dariusburst just pulled it off and is really the first iOS horizontal shmup with perfect controls IMO. Most horizontal shooters just fail miserably due to the controls. Anyway, your method sounds interesting and I will certainly be picking this up :)

Yes! I'm buying this based purely on the fact that it doesn't have relative touch controls.

There's only been two horizontal shmups that I really like. Space tripper because it has tilt, and Zombie Bunnies because all the enemies shoot from the ground.

Oh yeah, everything else looks swell too!

100% agree, always buy Orange Pixel games. This looks like a great retro looking blaster, hope its icade compatible (most of their games are).

Instant purchase for me this week

Orangepixel. Retro Visuals. Side Scrolling Shmup. Gradius nostalgia. Instabuy.

Orangepixel for me means tight controls, retro graphics, great soundtrack and a whole lot of awesomeness. One of the devs I have the most respect for!

This. Those are the reasons I love their games and the team. After Meganoid, Star Dash and Inc, I can't wait for this!

Looks decent, but redundant.... Whats with the blocky graphics on purpose?
Defender is still the sideways shooter for me.

I'd still buy this is 99 cents. With blutrol not so desperate for icade support.

Probably is, but Orangepixel don't release games in NZ till later. (Or haven't so far)
