With this we should consign the term “interactive movie” to history’s dustbin, because movies can’t dream of offering audiences a narrative structure as intimate and involving as this: they’re just moving pictures. Her Story points to the future" 5/5, The Guardian Her Story is the critically acclaimed mystery game from Sam Barlow. Playing like an interactive true crime documentary, the game lets you go hands on with a police database full of live action video footage. It stars Viva Seifert, actress and one half of the band Joe Gideon and the Shark. How does it work? Her Story sits you in front of a mothballed desktop computer and logs you into a police database. Search through hundreds of video clips that cover seven interviews from 1994 in which a British woman is interviewed about her missing husband. Explore the database by typing search terms, watch the clips where she speaks those words and piece together her story. "Her Story is a beautiful amalgam of the cinema and video game formats... a remarkable achievement..." 90, The Washington Post "Profound, gripping live-action drama… sure to be discussed for years to come" 5/5, Digital Spy Unlike anything you've played before, Her Story is an involving and moving experience. One that asks you to listen. I'm in too. Liked those FMV games on the Sega CD. I've been waiting to try this. Price drop just jogged my memory to get this. CookingPie Well-Known Member Mar 25, 2014 177 0 16 #7 CookingPie, Dec 9, 2015 Gosh, people still keen to buy this? I think a sale much closer to it's release date was more appropriate as I thought by now everyone who would have been interested in this would know the 'twist' by now. I guess not. I highly recommend this 'game' experience. It's unique and totally absorbing. Though once you've played through you have no real reason to play again. Well worth the sale price if you don't know the 'twist' already! (And in my opinion, knowing there's a twist but not knowing what the twist is can hardly be considered a spoiler, but I guess some will disagree ) SpikeGuy Well-Known Member May 8, 2012 532 0 16 #8 SpikeGuy, Dec 9, 2015 Agreed on both points. RampageDeluxe Well-Known Member Jul 3, 2013 125 0 16 #9 RampageDeluxe, Dec 9, 2015 It kind of is a spoiler because now instead of just enjoying the experience, people are looking for the twist. I won't be able to play it without that thought at the forefront of my mind. Xexist Well-Known Member May 6, 2010 2,440 1 0 Canada #10 Xexist, Dec 9, 2015 I finished this in one sitting which was a little dissappointing, and Im not sure I was 'Wowed' by the game, but it was well worth the sale price and I did enjoy my time with the game. Definite reccomend at this price if you havent got already (I mean cmon its 2 bucks. Thats like 5 minutes of my hourly wage) CookingPie Well-Known Member Mar 25, 2014 177 0 16 #11 CookingPie, Dec 9, 2015 Yeah it kind of is a spoiler knowing there's a twist. (To you my apologies). But then every story these days has at least one twist in it, if not more. These days it would be a twist if there was no twist, he he. (You must log in or sign up to post here.)
