    Hi there,

it's been quite a while since my last post on these forums.
Time to show some preview footage of my current project:

The story is inspired by H.P. Lovecraft... :)

As always, I've been creating nearly everything on my own (Graphics & Design, Digital Painting, Modelling, Animation, Sound Effects and Programming).
The music is done by Moritz Horvath http://www.moritzhorvath.de

The game features full scene realtime bumped specular reflections (even Infinity Blade doesn't have that, the background there is always static baked lightmap stuff) - and running with 30 fps even on iPad 1.

Gameplay will be an intuitive 3D runner experience with tilt controls for left/right, left tap for jump, right tap for shooting. Or vice versa, if you change the setting

It will come for iPhone 3GS, iPad1 and of course all newer devices.

Here's my first draft for the cover art:

    Stay tuned!

Thanks! Well, it is a mixture between runner and shooter, but it won't be endless. The world will be built by hand, and there will be several paths that one can choose.
And depending on your performance on these paths, others will get unlocked...
Also, it will have a storyline.

Looks good, but the character reminds me of Kilik from SoulCalibur and the running animation looks a bit weird..

awesome thanks for the replay ,i have a suggestion tho ,i think the controls would be better if you could implement swipe up to jump and hold to shoot or add a shooting button !!
will make it easier to play with one hand. !?

I know, you mean like Temple Run, right?

Well, I wanted to create it rather as a mixture between a classic jump'n'run game and... Spaceharrier... :)

Also, you simply need both free and precise controls, especially when trying to get from rooftop to rooftop. Like the console version of Mirror's Edge, you know?

For now, it works really fine with the tilting... Actually, I can't stop playing already... ;)

    Thank you! :)

Well, it sort of *is* a runner game... ;) But don't worry about that... I'm aiming for a gameplay experience like Space Harrier + Mirror's Edge with a captivating storyline.

By the way, the most work is creating the boss enemies... You might see that in the last 30 seconds of this video. I try to make the game as varying and exciting as possible!

This looks amazing! The tilt controls seem like they work perfectly! Very excited for this game.

Not a fan of tilting control in iPad, but the game looks reeeeaaalllyyy coool, I admit I felt some Lovecraft in the air before reading the description, well done!

If someone says it´s a stupid gameplay just to run... look at almost 10% of the games in the appstore and some of the most played, they are even more "stupid" :)

PS: Are you a "one guy" company? If so, cool!!
But... I find all the people that work alone and achieve good 3d graphics are always having problems with the performance of their games, one cannot make great graphics and great engine performance all by himself!

We need more guys like you!
Definitely not enough Cthulhu titles on the appstore :)
Please don't make it tilt only, add some physical buttons as well.

    Thanks a lot! :)

Well, maybe I can... ;) That's why this project took me so long. I've spent at least 3 months only to optimize the render pipeline and to get deep enough into shader lab to rewrite the shader I needed for this - and finally I reached 30 frames per second even on the old iPad1, iPod Touch 4 and iPhone 3GS.
Actually, only the HD resolution on the older devices was challenging (iPad1 and iPod Touch 4). I believe that's also why Infinity Blade looks so meh on the iPad1. But I've created a technique that, as far as I know, hasn't been used anywhere before, but that would get too technical.
However, it runs smooth... And now I'm going for the balancing.

    Hi there,

    Just watched the clip.

Nice work on the graphics. It has a real mood / atmosphere to it.

How do you plan to convey the planned story: - will it be cut-scenes between levels?

    Thank you!

Well, there will be some cut scenes (like when the boss comes out of the building), but I'm also planning some quick time events... like in "Heavenly Sword" where the girl must run down the giant ropes, for example.

In any case, I always try to integrate them seamlessly into the gameplay.

Each level will hold some hidden stuff or special enemies that will unlock the path to other levels and help develop the story. I'm aiming to some kind of "Infinity Blade" system...

So true! This simply has to have a randomly generated endless mode! Please add because the game looks fantastic!! ;)
