I'm trying to decide between mainly 2 apps on the store...

    Warpgate and Galaxy on Fire.

I'm wondering which one you would recommend, and why. It appears to me that Warpgate is more about the economics and exploration and less focus on action, where Galaxy on Fire seems to have a bit more of an action slant to it. I enjoyed the lite version of Galaxy on Fire, but can't compare Warpgate because of there not being a lite version out.

I've also tried the lite version of Space Miner, and although I really enjoyed what I've played so far, if it all entails just going to sector after sector shooting asteroids and the occasional enemy, I might get bored with that one.

Thanks in advance for all comments!

Warpgate for sure. Galaxy on Fire is too laggy and the first missions are really annoying to get by. Also, Space Miner is a must but it is basically only a 2d Warpgate.

I only played the first 2 missions of Galaxy on Fire: Lite (after the tutorial). I did enjoy the free movement of flying and combat, which is why I'm not sure if I'll really like the combat portion of Warpgate. I'm not so much about playing for forever just doing trading and economic things, I like some explosions and actions to keep things interesting, but done with a good story and quest variety (escort, seek and destroy, explore, etc.).

Thanks for the replies so far. One other question, does Space Miner change up as the game progresses? As far as where you go and what you fight? or is it always just mining asteroids for your uncle, and taking out drones/ships in the way?

It seems like you would get bored shooting asteroids in Space Miner, but you actually don't. It is just so much fun. Also you have various boss fights, side missions with different tasks, and more so you not doing the same thing over and over. Space Miner is just such a great title, you shouldn't miss it

Thanks, I was enjoying the lite version while I was trying it over the weekend. Didn't know it had boss fights and different side missions/tasks.

I happened to see articles for Galaxy on Fire 2 and Warpgate and got sidetracked from Space Miner...lol. GoF2 looks amazing, but doubt that will be out even by this summer.

Warpgate just got updated for better combat, besides GoF combat is really hard (i mean really really HARD, the enemies are pretty beast at dodging)

    Space Miner- FO SHO!
That was one of the funniest game's I've ever played on my iTouch, and it's the last game i've actually finished. It was great.
Warpgate is good, but not really what I expected. I'll try the new combat out tonight. :D

    Space Miner

I think I may prefer Space Miner to Warp Gate. I'm starting to get the feeling that 65% of my play time in warp gate is just flying from one place to another. Starts to feel more like a chore than a game. Space Miner on the other hand I just beat with 100% Suprisingly fun for how simple the gameplay is.
