Nice article, thanks for telling your story. To give up entirely , I'm not sure is the best out but having a life and family takes precedence. There are always new venues out there like the windows phone...iOS is incredibly competitive in one touch games. I've made an income but sometimes ponder at quitting, I'm also able to work odd jobs plus have a huge project I'm working on
I've been around the block with a similar experience. Best thing is to let go of the past in order to move on. For me that is moving on to the next project, I just love developing games...physics based ones so perhaps that is the fascination which keeps me coming back for more? Once you hit rock bottom there's only one way to go
