I can't seem to find a good list of all the games featuring A5 support, so let's start one here. Thanks for those. I forgot about Dead Space, and didn't know about bike baron. I'm not sure about ShadowGun. I haven't seen a definitive answer.
Shadowgun must be, got a 4s a few days ago and the difference in gfx is incredible from 3gs to 4s. Also looking through the thread they had to remove the explosion wave so that older devices could play the game as only the a5 chips could handle it, but then put it back in for only a5. Is that optimised or just too powerful for older chips? others to add...gameloft claim they have several http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8Uj9V1tERrc so silent ops, backstab, lets golf 3, 9mm, and asphalt 6 (the a5 update has droppped) fast five apparantly will be updated to use a5, has not yet. Galaxy Pirate Adventure has a5 optimised textures - not tried it though Dungeon Defenders: second wave has a5 optimisation for 4s and ipad2 in description, not sure what is optimised but i get no lag ar all compared to 3gs And Epoch just released with a5 enhancements - great game
Any specifics? any game i play on my 4s looks good compared to 3gs and I'm not sure if its due to retina screen, speed boost on CPU or actual dual core optimisation. Infinity Blade and Shadowgun look so good they must be, but asphalt, backstab, bike baron and the like look a bit better, wouldnt say optimised
Great Little War Game? It has better water shaders, better lighting, full screen anti-aliasing and will be getting better shadows at some point soon.
Shadow gun looks amazing on my iPad 2 but kinda boring gameplay. It's a great time to have a A5 device!
List at the top needs updating Also Bullet time HD to add - description says ipad2 and 4s enhancements also an old one...riptide GP has better wave physics on a5 devices, not actually listed in description but confirmed on the TA thread, and I can almost notice the difference between 3gs and 4s, but only just.
FMX Riders is now optimized for the iPhone 4S with twice the draw distance (that's almost 3X more polygons displayed)!
I think the reason this thread died is that there are too many games with a5 optimisation to list now, more arrive every week either new or update. Soul Calibur just got 60fps upgrade for a5, reckless racing was a5 optimised etc... My faves that use it are still Galaxy on fire 2 HD (on sale), shadowgun, infinity blade 2, epoch and asphalt 6
I'm not sure what the criteria is, but Phoenix HD runs on native resolution only on A5 devices, so it is optimized specifically for iPhone4S and iPad2. (it runs on 320x480 on all other devices). http://itunes.apple.com/us/app/phoenix-hd/id445791750?mt=8
