OK, don't laugh, I've never played one of these mine craft like games. Thought I would give JJX a go. So I've got the idea that you chop down trees and dig up stone - then you craft new bits. But every time it gets dark - I get killed and lose all my stuff. What the ****! How the hell do you stop that happening. Anyone got a link to an idiots guide to this game. I am getting well frustrated!
The link to this "idiot's guide" you request is found in-game. Open up the craft book (bottom right, second button), click "tutorial," and pick a subject that you need help with.
Also, you can put the game on peaceful (in the game settings), so no hostile mobs spawn. You can turn it off once you get used to the game.
The tutorial, when you are totally clueless, isn't very good - loads of stuff not explained. Will try the peaceful setting - had not spotted that - could be just what I need. Thanks
The most basic premise of the genre along with crafting is building. Stopping yourself from being killed on the surface is as simple as building a 2-block high wall of dirt. Also, questions like this are why we have threads for each game: http://forums.toucharcade.com/showthread.php?t=201947
