MiniGore? Where in the hell is it, Apple?

And who knows how many other awesome apps Apple hasn't cleared.

But if you want a sun tanning sim, then the App Store is where to find one.

Not to mention all the cool Google applications...

It seems Apple is against productive apps and games we want.

    Whatcha think?

    So do I!

Really, I wrote this article out of exasperation. More than games, this is about all those wonderful applications Apple has seen fit to reject, either out of ignorance or because of greed. Business before innovation, I know. But this is getting pretty ridiculous.

The Google Voice app they rejected would've been awesome.

I'm pretty sure AT&T were behind that rejection.

Perfect example why you shouldn't make "exclusive" partnerships.
Imagine how big IPhone would be if it were available on all carriers.

If I heard that Apple was going to open up the market base and allow all carriers to sell and support the IPhone, I would run, not walk to my broker and buy, buy, buy all the Apple stock I could afford.

I voted for ruining, but I don't think they're really doing that bad of a job. For god's sake, the app store is barely a year old. This kind of distribution model is all new. Sure, there are more open app-store-like experiences, but I'm sure they've all got their own problems for now.

Doesn't the App Store have a number of apps on an order of magnitude larger than any of the other app-store-like experiences? It's hard to manage all that.

    at my computer?
it's just minigore "fans" (not sure how you can be a fan of something you haven't played) trying to cause trouble because Apple isn't pushing minigore out ahead of other apps that were submitted before it.

patience is key....Yea sometimes people loose it after waiting for a game that has been waiting 2 weeks to be approved thats out rageous...

Maybe Apple needs to hire more people for testing these games lol....

It's all about time, and I dont think Apple is ruining the App Store completely...There are other factors.

I agree with you however they are not ruining it. They do need a quality filter and don't let ever garbage app into the store. They also do need to speed up the review process. But they are managing the store well by featuring apps and managing all the updates, lists, etc

you basically made this thread cause your mad that minigore is not out in my opinion. all because minigore is taking forever doesnt mean apple is ruining the appstore. And if they are ruining it, are you gonna stop buying games? NO......so i think apple is ruining the store. its fine how it is.

Why does everything always have to be about Minigore? I thought this would be some factual research. There are so many underrated, awesome games out there. But people are basically bowing down to a Geometry Wars game.. I am happy to see the iPhone's gaming evolve to where people anticipate games, but seriously.

Not sure. If that were completely true, Minigore would've been rushed out.

Yeah they are.. well the App Store economy anyways. Really hope they implement that revenue Top 100 chart thing to the App Store so that I don't have to see fart apps and cheap $0.99 games on the charts. And for true games to appear at full price on the charts like Real Racing, Zenonia, and Hero of Sparta. Also, so that they don't go on sale.

For one Apple could have not anticipated the impact their platform would have as a mobile gaming device. In the beginning all they had were a few ok apps from major publishers, now they have amazing titles coming from every place: indie, upstart, and publisher.

However for every 1 good gaming app is sold, most likely 100 trash apps are sold in its place. So in conclusion yes I am sure Apple wants to get all the good apps out, but they make so much money on all the apps period. That theirs just no urgency to get such apps like Minigore out in a hurry.
