    Hello,
I have just submitted our first iPhone game (Solitaire Siege) to Apple, so hopefully by the end of August it should be out to download and I basically just want to let you guys know about it and try to get some interest and publicity for the game.

Solitaire Siege is a really simple and fun enhanced version of the card game Pyramid where the idea of the game is remove all the cards from the battle field by matching cards from your deck to available games that are either one value above or below your current card. I know it sounds really simple and it is, but there’s also a fair bit of strategy to the game if you want to get anywhere in it and it is a game that you will keep coming back to again and again.
    [IMG] [IMG]

Our enhanced version of the game includes weapons (from Snipers and Flame throwers, to Rocket Launchers and Air Strikes (there’s even Mind Control devices so you can get the enemy to attack itself)) and mercenary cards (numbered cards you can use at any time) to help you remove the cards (enemy clone soldiers) from the battle field.

    [IMG] [IMG]

At first, the levels start out fairly easy as you only need to remove a few of the enemy, so you can still miss a couple of cards and continue on to the next level, but later levels will require you to totally wipe out the approaching clone army and this is where cleaver use of the weapon and mercenary cards come in to play if you want to survive. Some levels even require you to remove special cards (bunkers or trees) from the level to attack the cards hidden behind them.

The basic background story to the game is that the evil general is secretly creating an army of clones to take over the world and it’s your job to stop him by any means possible. You will travel from the deepest forests, to hot, dusty deserts, to the cold snow covered lands and even to hidden underground bases in your quest for the general.

The game was written specifically for the iPhone / iPod touch so the control system should be as simple as possible for you (just tap on the card to remove it, select the weapon card and then where to use it) and with it been a mobile game we have made it so that the game automatically saves after each level so you can play the game in quick, short bursts, making it ideal for sneaking in a quick couple of minutes play here and there, but be warned that it can get really addictive to play and you can soon find yourself spending a couple of hours playing on it without even realizing it.

Along with the main game mode (Solitaire Siege), we have also included the original card game Pyramid for when you want to play the old school style rules and we have also included a simple, little mini game called Convoy Attack.

    Features:
Instant pick up and play game play that’s fun and easy to get in to, but takes a lot to master.
Lots of weapons and special cards to help the player and allows for lots of different strategies to be tried.
Loads of level layouts and with each layout been randomly generated, you should never play the same game twice.
Enemy cards fight back so make sure that you don’t miss a possible card.
Auto save feature after each level so even if you only have a couple of minutes, you can rush through a couple of levels and return to the action later from the level you left.
Defend yourself from ambush attacks and quickly take out the head officers for bounty points.
Three great games in one APP (Solitaire Siege, Pyramid and Convoy Attack) with the possibilities of more games to be included later.

    Future Plans:
We also have plenty of plans for some great updates ranging from more weapon and mercenary cards, to ninjas attacks, enemy tanks, mortars, zeppelins and even a couple of boss battles. There’s lots of possibilities for this game which if it proves to be popular we would like to do for it. Of course all our updates will be free as we don’t think it’s fair on the users to pay for a game and then be expected to pay for other features / content, but as we are only a small team, it really depends on how well the game is received as to how much extra we can plough back into the game. So please, if you think you like the sound of this game, please help us by buying the game when it gets released and letting your friends know about the game.

You can also check out more on the game at our website and get information about other games we are working on for the iPhone.

    Thanks for reading.

Thanks, we have spent about 4 months on the game so far. It's our first iPhone/iPod game, so there was a fair bit of trial and error in getting the game to play well on the device, but I'm really happy with how well the game has come out and it plays really well (been play testing it for well over 3 months now and the game is still really enjoyable).

    All the best,
    Mike Moore.

    Thanks

    Thanks for that Lord Gek.
I was just about to update this thread to let everyone know that it has just come out (wasn't to sure on if it was okay to open a new thread about this).
I'll pop over there now as soon as I have uploaded a couple of iPhone wall papers for the game to celebrate the release of the game (just as a little thank you).
