Hello, I have an ipod touch 2nd gen with 3.1.2 OS installed. To date, I have avoided updating to OS to 4.X out of a concern that a newer OS will run much slower on my aging hardware. However, I am beginning to see a greater number of game releases not supporting my OS version and I am tempted to upgrade. (I only use my ipod touch for music, audio books, and games) What does the TA community reccomend . . .Should I upgrade or am I better off staying at the old OS? thanks, AI1
Yeah, you've missed out a ton. I have a 2nd gen as well running on 4.x and honestly, it runs flawlessly as the above said.
Yes, upgrade. Runs great on the 2nd gen. You don't get multitasking but you do get folders and Game Center and an all-round better experience. From a developer's perspective it's getting more difficult to support 3.x, so fewer and fewer apps will work on that from here on out.
yup i agree with all of the above love my 2nd gen ill prob upgrade to the one that comes next year if they decide to continue them or a 4th gen
