You only control the jumping, shooting and to some degree dashing. But dashing is done by not shooting and holding the shoot button so it's pretty rare for me to even bother using it since you need to constantly shoot in order to survive. If this had left & right arrows and a little more to it then I think I would have loved this game to pieces. It should also be of note that of my 19 GC friends that have this game and played it at least once... only one has ever finished it (Andy). And my GC list is comprised of some of the most serious ios gamers on this forum. The best tip I can give you is to keep dashing pretty much the whole time, and only chuck a projectile when necessary. That, and having a good memory. I hear you on the left/right buttons, proper platforming thing. Bloo Kid 2 is my current go to game for some excellent traditional platforming. nightc1 Well-Known Member Oct 19, 2012 4,362 0 0 AL #16 nightc1, Aug 2, 2014 Nice recommend. I'll throw Bloo Kid 2 back on mg phone. I'm about half way through Kid Tripp. I think I'd like to have this game amongst those I've completed. I appreciate the tips and worst case last resort the option to see how it can be beaten. I do think it gets a bit easier after adapting to the auto run and jump length. paulkane Well-Known Member Sep 6, 2012 1,102 0 36 Library automaton Denver #17 paulkane, Aug 2, 2014 Definitely hard, but also fun. I eventually decided against it because I REALLY wanted to have the sprint mechanic, and some level designs I wanted to do would be impossible to beat if you couldn't sprint/hold jump/shoot simultaneously (which you can't if the jump and sprint/shoot buttons are both on the right); it would literally be an inferior control scheme. I could have made sprinting automatic with the left/right scheme, but then there'd be no slowdown penalty for throwing rocks, which makes the original scheme inferior (which is additionally bad because I wanted speedruns to be competitive, and I wanted to reward people for NOT throwing rocks). Plus I just liked the elegance of not having on screen buttons. So all that said, the sequel is doing away with the sprint mechanic, which opens the door for left/right buttons (in addition to the original two-button scheme). There will also be PC/Mac versions (and hopefully others...) which will control like a classic platformer. Edit: That vid was awesome Andy! Thanks for sharing.
