Wacom Intuos tablets have always been pretty much the only brand to care about. The only relevant question is which size fits best with the way you draw.
I got a Bamboo Fun from Wacom a while ago. (Not the one with Multitouch). Its about the Size of an iPad and pretty solid to work with in Photoshop and for Sculpting. It has a good size and enough pressure sensitivity for my uses. It's also not as expensive as the Intous version. I've never used one of those, so i can't compare. What i can compare with is the smaller version of the Bamboo Fun, and that shouldn't be called "Fun" because it's not! It was just to small for any serious work. Or if you have the moneys, there's nothing nicer to work on than the Cintic 21ux! I have played with that around before, and that is something completely different!
A wacom A4 oversize! It's about 7-8 years old and still uses a serial port. One of the reasons I won't update my art PC as I will lose out on the serial.
