Hey everyone, though we'd share a few details about our upcoming iOS game, Optic Combat. We've spent the last few months working on it, in between my computer science study at college and my friends part-time work. The basic premise is that you choose from one of 8 guns, and shoot space enemies such as aliens and UFO's that appear in the camera view. The enemies will spawn in whatever environment you're in, like your bedroom, lounge or outdoors, and you aim at them and shoot them. We will have support for posting your highscore to Facebook and Twitter, with Game Center support to follow in v1.1, due in January. The game will support the following devices: iPhone 4, 4S and 5; iPod touch 4th and 5th generation; iPad 2 & iPad 3. To avoid a large file size for iPhone and iPod touch users, we'll have a separate version for the iPad. Both versions will be free with 8 guns. The available guns at launch will be: Rifle Shotgun Grease Gun Revolver AA12 Bullpup Glock Machine Gun
We have a few updated screenshots to share, as well as details about an upcoming update. The game should be out 11pm/midnight on Wednesday, or in about 3 hours here in New Zealand. We've spent the last couple of months polishing the game, with a new UI: There may be a few bugs to iron out, so we'll submit a 1.0.1 update by the 21st, which will also have some UI tweaks, a sound when hitting an enemy, and changes to the gameplay, including faster/more varied enemy movement and a danger bar that gets faster with your score. v1.1 will have Game Center support. We are also considering making the game free, with the current coins system as well as an in-app purchase to unlock all of the guns in the game. There may also be an unlock for unlimited ammo. If you guys have suggestions, let us know! Our website dubzem.com is now live, we are still making a few changes but you can send us suggestions or any queries at dubzem.com/support We hope you guys enjoy the game! I'll be here to answer any questions you might have. Otherwise, download the game and try it out, it'll be $2 on release.
