The game is now searchable in the App Store. Unfortunately it took 50 hours to show up instead of the usual 6-12. I'm not sure why and Apple support wasn't sure why either cy@n Well-Known Member Feb 1, 2011 1,812 17 38 "Mein Land" #7 cy@n, Aug 4, 2015 This game deserves A LOT OF more players. Did they all miss this little masterpiece of a speedrun game? nightc1 Well-Known Member Oct 19, 2012 4,362 0 0 AL #8 nightc1, Aug 5, 2015 Overall this is a really solid speed runner. There's enough variety in the level design and the few moves you can do to make this a bit more than the average auto running speed runner. I could see getting really competitive with my times. Thanks for the heads up about this. I do not typically spend money on iap, but the ads are not so intrusive as to make the game not worth playing. It's actually one of the better implementations of ads I've seen as they aren't on the gameplay screen. Considering that I started to abandon ios as a viable gaming platform last year (despite the exceptional Goblin Sword & Traps N' Gemstones), it's amazing when an ios game can capture my interest. I think I'm down to just over a dozen games on my iphone now and I've purged most of my backups of ios games. It used to be such a great mecca of indie devs and stuff but without trust it's hard for me to justify spending the money when so many devs also move over to consoles, handhelds and pc. So I mainly just put my money into PSN published stuff these days... even rebuying games I own on iOS like yesterday Flying Hamster HD & King Oddball. cy@n Well-Known Member Feb 1, 2011 1,812 17 38 "Mein Land" #9 cy@n, Aug 5, 2015 IMHO bintu run is unique because every single movement has to be timed perfectly. Almost every attempt gives a different time because of the VERY exact time measurement and the precise controls. nightc1 Well-Known Member Oct 19, 2012 4,362 0 0 AL #10 nightc1, Aug 6, 2015 I put more time in with it last night and indeed it requires some perfect timing. I'm glad this game has ghosts recorded for my fastest times, it makes it easier to know when to restart or keep going. I managed to crawl up a couple of the early leader boards but a few levels in and I started to lose the drive to keep going for scores. The ads did get a little more annoying during my grind for better scores, but as long as I was restarting before finishing a race they weren't intrusive. It was only when I improved a time and finished the race that the ads kicked in and took over. Thankfully none last more than 5 seconds. The game isn't perfect though. At times (often after an ad) the gameplay slows down during restarts. This is cool for getting better scores as the precision needed isn't as great but then the calculations for time also get messed up a bit and it's easy to get ahead of my ghost even at the very start of a race before making any moves. It's probably an iOS8 on a 4S deal... but figured I'd make note of it incase the dev views the thread. cy@n Well-Known Member Feb 1, 2011 1,812 17 38 "Mein Land" #11 cy@n, Aug 6, 2015 I saw your name showing up in the top 2 # The solution for this "imperfectioness" is just a buck away It's even more fun without the ads cy@n Well-Known Member Feb 1, 2011 1,812 17 38 "Mein Land" #12 cy@n, Aug 6, 2015 A question and a request to devs: Is it possible to take a hat off once you wear it? For the next version i would love to see a highscore that is done offline is uploaded when you get online for the next time. For GC it works but the ingame leaderboard doesnt show scores that were done while being offline jonk Active Member May 17, 2011 25 0 0 http://www.tenthplay.com/arno #13 jonk, Aug 7, 2015 Hey, thanks for the comments guys! I have a small update waiting for review that does some minor fixes(such as making the master hat achievement work) and adds "Rival Codes" so you anyone can race against anyone's ghost if they have the code, not just facebook friends. When it's out I'll post my rival code from beta testing the build here. Unfortunately the Bintu Run wasn't App Store searchable when it was listed on the Touch Arcade new releases (App Store bug I guess, 2 days and 1 call to Apple later it fixed itself) so I think that might have meant people couldn't find it to play and get a discussion going here. You can take off your current hat by tapping the 'X' to left of the hat list. I've noticed the occasional slow down myself come and go. It is pretty rare for me even with a 4s as my main test phone so I wasn't sure if it would show up but sounds like it does. I will try to look into it & try more testing with ads on to see if that is related. Also added uploading offline scores to the possible todo list. cy@n Well-Known Member Feb 1, 2011 1,812 17 38 "Mein Land" #14 cy@n, Aug 7, 2015 Sounds great! ... and thank you for showing me the X # saosijs Well-Known Member Mar 24, 2012 1,483 2 38 Brazil #15 saosijs, Aug 7, 2015 That sounds pretty cool! Specifically (after the update) clicking "profile" on the main menu, then the "Add Rival from Code" button. Your own rival code will be shown above the button. cy@n Well-Known Member Feb 1, 2011 1,812 17 38 "Mein Land" #17 cy@n, Aug 9, 2015 When did you upload the update? jonk Active Member May 17, 2011 25 0 0 http://www.tenthplay.com/arno #18 jonk, Aug 13, 2015 The Bintu Run update is out now. If you want to see my ghosts go to "profile"->"Add Rival by Code"->"1JJ" then you should see jonk in your rivals. The profile page will also show your rival code if you want to give anyone the ability to see your ghosts/times. (If you are just starting out you might not want to add mine, takes some practice to compete with the times. Maybe I should get some rival codes from friends/testers to post some easier ones too.) Update also has some other misc improvements / fixes. nightc1 Well-Known Member Oct 19, 2012 4,362 0 0 AL #19 nightc1, Aug 14, 2015 One final bit of feedback. Last night I played one last game of Bintu Run. I decided to push forward and see the other levels. When I got to the Pendulum level it started to hit me what was wrong with the game and why I suddenly wasn't enjoying it as much as when I started. For about 20 or so retries I, as a speed runner, tried to start the pendulum level and run non-stop, jump and land on the pendulum, and quickly jump to the other side. Out of those tries I made it maybe twice. There's something off about the precision requirements. Maybe it's because there is too small a window between making it and not? Maybe it's the small screen making it harder to be precise versus the larger ipad? Whatever the case it was shortly after this level that I decided I didn't want to compete for the high scores and just deleted it. It made a good first impression but in later levels the fun sort of wore off quickly. I get that in some situations I needed to go slowly to make certain jumps or to land on the top of a down slope to then roll up and get more speed (which felt innovative)... but it wasn't as fun figuring that out as opposed to just running flat out and trying to time perfect jumps & rolls. In the end I had to let it go as it seemed more frustrating than fun. I'm not saying change the game or make it my way or whatever. I just wanted to provide a little feedback to why I personally ended up giving up. Take care. cy@n Well-Known Member Feb 1, 2011 1,812 17 38 "Mein Land" #20 cy@n, Aug 15, 2015 @nightc1: i contrast to you i like it how you not only have to time your actions but you also have to take care of your speed # that's not as easy as "just" a simple speedrun # @jonk: how can i generate my own rival code? on my iphone and ipad it just says: "Your rival code is:" (You must log in or sign up to post here.)
