I have street fighter x tekken but am looking for other series as well.

  4. Street fighter tekken is the only one I would recommend. I got ultimate mortal combat and marvel vs capcom 2, and both were disappointing. Sorry, not too many good games in this genre mainly cause of control issues.

Surprised no one has mentioned Counter Strike: Masters of Melee fighting! Why no love for this game? ;) :D :p

King of Fighters is awesome, and the port of Soul Calibur is quite decent if incomplete. Blade Lords is, at first blush anyway, quite accomplished, if less deep than SF and KoF.

Kinetic Damage should be coming out soon -- it looks pretty darn good.

Blade Lords? I didn't try that game, but yeah, KD looks really cool.

BL is an Unreal powered 2.5D Soul Calibur-style mission-based fighter with RPG elements. The move set is nowhere near as deep as SF or KoF, but that's not necessarily all bad. The biggest issues are lack of playable characters (you start with one, and unlock a 4 or 5 other ones) and the fact that it's free+IAP - you are sure to hit a pay wall at some point. Serious fighting fans will probably find the game lacking, but someone who has a more casual appreciation for the genre may find the visuals, story, and RPG elements compelling.

I actually do want to try mortal kombat. I know the controls are not the best but I really want it.

My concern is that it would crash constantly on my ipod touch 5.

See my follow up post ;).

Basically, there's dual currency, with weapons and equipment that requires the rarer one (especially to unlock new characters).

Anyways. I know there are issues but I would like to try out Mortal Kombat, would it work fine on my ipod touch 5? I played a game I had before, Linkin park 8 bit rebellion from my old ipod and that game kept crashing.

The iPod 5 has iPad 2 hardware. I think you'll be fine.

It's worth checking out, if only for the way it looks.

Mix between arena fighting and third person adventure. Epic game either way. Buy it, love it, talk about, worship it. It's that good. (no one else's opinion matters lol)

I agree with you there. Also, can't wait for Kinetic Damage. Been waiting for that a while now!

King of Fighters and Volt are the best ones. But Marvel Vs Capcom 2 and Soul Calibur are definitely worthwhile.

SFxT would be if Capcom got rid of the coin system and made the netcode actually playable.
