Hi to all, Due to some of your requests, and after careful consideration we have decided to conduct a poll for the video recording rule about the money contest. The reasons we decided on the video recording rule at first was to protect against fake scores from possible hacking. Because of the unpopularity of the video recording rule: ... we have put together 4 possible solutions for you to choose from: 1. full game video recording 2. partial video recording (last minute of final score at least) 3. screen shot of game over along with openfeint (verification of id through openfeint) 4. openfeint only (verification of id through openfeint) *minimum 100 votes required If the votes required are not submitted, option 2 will be applied as of now, and until or if the poll results are different. Screen shot for sure, at least 50% of the people can't make a video or have too bad connections to upload it. And you will never get 100 votes tbh.
We will hear the voices. We will put it in another forum and let you know soon. But 3-5 votes won`t do. Everyone can find a way to upload a large file though. From a friend, from a cafe, university etc... And everyone can find a camera too. You can pause the game at 70.000+ (or close it. it saves your last game and you can continue) ask a camera from a friend and there you are. Just a minute video until you lose. I'm with the majority here, just a screenshot with OF integration (so at least they'd need to be decent hackers as well as Photoshop Masters) since I don't have a video camera and you never really know in advance if THIS is going to be the game you get that amazing score on. Maybe if you're allowed to just show a video from some point pretty late in the game (once you already know you have an amazing game in progress) it wouldn't be AS bad but I'd still prefer to lose the whole video aspect. I still like my idea of an encrypted code right there in the end of game score display that only the devs have the ability to unscramble which factors in the score, combos, and total time. If the stats displayed in the screenshot don't match the encrypted code also shown in the screenshot, the picture has been altered.
The voting goes ok. I put already one poll in the largest forum about the iPhone in my country and it will get a lot of votes. They just reviewed us with 5 stars and they `ll also feature us I don`t know if it is apropriate to put a link here. Is it ? Anyway you won`t understand a word there. It`s Greek Thank you all guys s

I have a good camera but can't make a video of me playing unless one of my kids happens to be here, and I don't usually play until they are asleep. I also don't trust OF that much due to they hackers so I say either a picture of your actual device or a screen shot. Something to authenticate what is showing in OF at least.

I don't have the app yet, but just a suggestion. How about instead of the gameplay video, a video of the page where it shows the score?

Looks like the screenshot and OpenFeint combo is the way to go ... We will most probably add a hash to verify the the score. STILL HACKABLE but since that is what you want ... BTW keep voting. More voting is more reassuring that we are doing the right thing... John
You realize that this poll is going to be incredibly biased. Even IF some of us thought filming the whole thing would be the safest way to verify things, it is undoubtedly a much bigger hassle for us gamers. I hope the endgame screen plus your own ability to lookup stuff by name on OF is enough. But here is something to consider...is there a way to have some minor stats stored in OF that aren't even displayed? Like could you have OF secretly store numbers of combos and time for some given score entry? So while we only see the OF name and score, you folk can get a few extra stats on an entry in the highscore listing to compare to the submitted photo?

Cool. This would be such a simpler solution and would be a lot tougher to hack than merely giving myself a 1,000,000,000 point score!
