Would love to see some still images of this, the graphics look mad legit and I dont bealive the video really does them justice =p
Oh yeah! Along with Raiden IV, one of my all time favorite modern shmups. As opposed to Battle Garrega and Armed Police Batrider, my favorite mame shmups. There are already 2 games like this on app store; "Shmup" is like a monochromatic, almost exact copy of Ikaruga, and "Kyotokei" which is a horizontal version. Rrootage HD also has an Ikaruga mode. I can't forget to mention DDP, Phoenix and Danmaku on my list of fav iOS shmups. My advice, make it universal, relative touch and beam weapons. But you knew that already, didn't you? Edit: BTW, is there a vid of Mal Function? Robotron is one of my all time favorite games as well, so I might get it if I like the vid.
There is a video of the iPad version of Mal Function on YouTube the iPhone/iPod version has better twin stick controls with autofire. Hope you like it!
The universal version of Mal Function has better controls - one stick to move and one stick for direction of autofire. I should really remove the HD version or maybe make it free? I think it has too many controls - seperate buttons to move, spin, fire and beam... All part of the iOS dev learning curve - 3rd app will be much better
Thanks! I've added a few screenshots above, will post a better quality video (with sound) as soon as I figure out a decent way to record it!
Thank you for the feedback - it is what keeps me going I've lost count of the hours and weekends this project has consumed! You can see and hear how it is coming along in this clip Thanks again MJ
Thank you for the feedback and encouragement. The game finally has a name - Energy Storm It is a universal app with relative touch controls and a choice of 3 ships with different fire patterns. There are some screenshots and a short video here. If you want to give it a whirl there is a beta available via Test Flight Thanks again and enjoy! MJ
Great to see this is making progress in public beta. Looking forward to seeing the final product when it is ready.
