    Hi Folks

We have a new game in progress, called Pinball Kid. It comes hot on the heals of Ice Riders and the Snow Fight update.

LATEST NEWS: It' submitted! Hopefully it will be out within a week or two.

Pinball Kid is universal and will be completely free, and is a homage to the plastic pinball toy games of the 70's/80's.

There are 3 different "tables", designed to take advantage of the simplicity of the old school handheld toys, to make an addictive game.

    Here's a gameplay video:

Here are the finalised table layouts and design, taken from the iPad version:

    Sounds great!

One must-have feature would be a tilt-mode cheat where gravity is like it would be in real life. For a good iOS example, see Pinball Tristan.

Awesome idea. And you're right, it wouldn't be complete without it. Left and Right definitely. But, tilting forwards shouldn't completely defy gravity though - otherwise it will become more of a labyrinth style game.

Well, that's why it would be a separate mode with no high-scores/leaderboards/etc. Just a toy to play with like you did as a kid. :p

I'm currently designing the tables, with kind of a Retro 70s feel.

If anyone want to suggest a theme, reply to this thread and it might just get made!

Hey loving the look of this ! I found a few 'pocketeers' on the app store (Called Pocket Mates) and they took me back to the late 70's when as kids we had these little devices.

Theres a lot of Pocketeers websites out there so you could check those out, just had a look and found this...

I had this game as a kid, be great to get a version similar on my ipod.

Please dont make them tilt only , a mix of tilt/touch controls would be good for all players.

One big thing for me would be the sound. I mean when you used to flick up the ball it had a certain noise to it, same for the game itself hitting the plastic bits etc. A lot of the game n watch clones do a great job of looking like the real thing, be good if you can do this here. Nice original idea, i'll be getting this for a nostalgia trip for sure.

Ok, a little update, there will definitely be 3 tables.

The ideas for themes and possible names so far:

    1. Robot; "Grandroid" - an android grandmother.
    2. Horror; "Zombeaver" - a zombie beaver
    3. Space

    Any thoughts?

The first table design for Pinball Kid is pretty much done, It’s for Zombeaver and we think it looks pretty cool!

The designs for the other tables Antdroid and Rocktopus are well under way and should be posted soon.

    Here’s Zombeaver:

Great stuff, looking forward to it. I like pinball but would like to get a more basic 'pocketeer' type one as you showed.

(Does the screen still say Bnus ball though ? )

    Love it !

Takes me back to the late 70's/early 80's with those Pocketeers !

I hope a lot of younger iOS players like this, good old skool pinball which was in the palm of your hand back then. Trying to get the high score with the 8 balls or so to beat your friends score.

I know its early days yet but the thought of more tables added in the future is great but those 3 look superb.

Cant wait till its out, thanks for creating this ! I love having on my ipod a variety of different games, modern games, retro titles and then retro games such as this. Cheers!

For the youngsters - this is what we used to play on before computers !....

Small little handheld games, no batteries, a lot of fun though
