    **** [11/18/09] ADDED STORY CUTSCENE VIDEOS ****

    Hi everyone! We'd like to briefly introduce ourselves... We are QuantumSquid Interactive, an independent game developer located in Portland, Oregon.

    Our website -----> http://www.quantumsquid.com

    [IMG]
    Currently - We have 2 iDevice titles in the final stages of development as well as a much larger scope iDevice RPG with a unique multi-player element in early development (more details and a sneak peek coming soon). If all goes as planned, our first game will be submitted to Apple for approval in a week or so.

    Here is a preview of our debut iPhone/iPod Touch game - RABID GOPHERS. This is a series of reaction/time based mini-games where players blast, detonate and snipe away snarling rabid gophers for as long as they possibly can in order to achieve the highest time possible.

    ----- Features -----
    • Pick-up and play instant action
    • Colorful, hand-drawn art style
    • Campaign "Story" Mode with original animated cut-scenes
    • Unlockable Survival Modes
    • 3 uniquely different game modes
      • Gopher Blast - Players must save the dangling hamster by blasting each rabid gopher as they pop up their head, not quick enough and the hamster gets it.
      • Gopher Bombs - Players must repeat a detonation sequence that gets progressively longer and harder to memorize.
      • Gopher Sniper - Players must use a sniper rifle to blow away the gophers as they become increasingly quicker in popping out of their holes.
    • Uncomplicated, natural feeling touch screen control scheme
    • 12 unique achievements to be unlocked
    • OpenFeint integration keeps track of each player's best times and achievements so you can see where you rank among the world's best
    Players can spend hours mastering it, or just a few minutes here and there, but we hope everyone will enjoy playing it!

    Simply put... We wanted to provide a top tier game experience with instant action and challenge for only a buck.... that's a candy bar! :)

    ----- iPhone Video -----
    Video quality is a little low. We used an iPhone 3Gs to capture the game play on an iPod Touch. Just keepin' it in the family...

    @PocketMonkey
    Thanks, it is always great to hear that from other developers!

    @Chronical
    Thanks for the reply!

    For Rabid Gophers we have implemented OpenFeint which is a very similar cross-game network which provides persistent game scores and global leader boards. Our primary reason for choosing OpenFeint stems from its established role in the iPhone gaming community and the overall polish of their API.

    The graphics look awesome, and it appears that you guys have a bit of a twisted sense of humor, which is always good. Can't wait to try this one out.

    Thanks PointOfLight! This has been a fun (and slightly "twisted") game to work on. It's always interesting when a conversation such as "is the gopher blood chunky enough?" comes up during development. Hope you'll enjoy it!

    Looks pretty cool. The chick popping out of the hole is great! I see the crosshair, sniper-type mode... Battle Bears type of game play??

    Thanks for the feedback, always great to hear. We were going for a tiny bit of "shock value" the first time the gopher hand comes up holding the fat chick. Obviously chick guts are a bad thing!

    Yes, the sniper mode is controlled much like Battle Bears, with one finger for moving/aiming the reticle, and touch anywhere for firing. As time goes by, you become progressively pressed for time to nail the gophers before they jump. It creates quite an intense experience.

    We posted a poll in a separate thread for feedback on the best icon choice... Have a look and tell us what you think, if you haven't already.

    Thanks PointOfLight!

    It has not been submitted yet. Game is complete (with the exception of possible small art tweaks based on our Poll). We are just finishing up the cutscenes and plan to submit to Apple by end of next week.

    Checkout out our poll and promo code contest if you have not already ---> HERE

    That video was seriously cool. I really hope this video game thing works out for you guys, but if not (or maybe even if it does) you guys should make short films. I'm really looking forward to this coming out.

    Hehe... thanks for the compliments spidey! We wanted a little surprise for the player when the gophers try to trick them with the baby chick...

    Price will be 99 cents. Less than the cost of a soda at Taco Bell... :p

    Wow, thanks! The game cutscenes ended up taking a bit more time out of our schedule than we had anticipated (for such a simple, inexpensive game). But, we are quite pleased how they turned out! They have their own style and look that fits in nicely with what we were wanting to do with the game.

    Thanks again for the compliments and feedback.
