    Thoughts on possibly implementing this?

So the TA admins aren't interested in a tool that makes the forums easier to read on an iPhone or iPod touch?

what exactly is so hard about reading it with safari on the phone? I don't seem to have a problem.

Are you that lazy that you need an app to make you feel like reading a forum is easier?

It's just so tiny, no copying and pasting, etc.

    I'm fully aware of that.

However when I double-tap instead of showing me the select thing it zooms in/out.

It's not a question of laziness, it's a question of "how can we make it more efficient". Was it "lazy" of Engadget or TUAW to create their own apps for their websites? Was it "lazy" for the New York Times to do it?
No, they just wanted to make it more efficient and easier for their iPhone-browsing users.
The tapatalk extension is one easy way to do that. Another is to create a custom app, i.e. the Engadget and TUAW apps.

Arn was looking for some devs to make an app... my guess it's for Mac Rumors. I don't really care if they make an app, I just want a mobile site.

Its just much more efficient using the Tapatalk when viewing forums.
I've been using this app for Mac Rumors and its night and day compared to launching it on safari. Perhaps people should give it a try before they are so quick to critic.

As a journalist on the go, Tapatalk support for Toucharcade would make satisfying my daily communication needs far more convenient ;)

(As for laziness, Taptalk would enable operations that simply cannot be done through normal Mobile Safari use, such as attaching pictures.)

Nope. Just use ImgurFree from the app store.:)

I use iCab Mobile, so I can upload through normal web forms.

But you would have to explain "Nope". Since I said that Tapatalk enables operations that "simply cannot be done through normal Mobile Safari use", I'm not quite sure what you are refuting :)

Because by using ImgurFree and Mobile Safari, you can embed images in your posts, which is almost the same as attaching them (in fact, it's even better). So tapatalk doesn't enable a feature missing in Safari.

Though thanks for pointing out iCab Mobile. I'll probably pick it up.

If the feature requires another app (which still does not allow for attachments, even if embedded images are better), it most certainly is missing from Safari, in every sense of the word. Tapatalk enables that feature, regardless of whether that feature is better or worse.

It is not a value judgement, or an in-depth analysis of which method is better. But for the feature not to be missing from Safari, Safari would have to have that feature, not achieve something similar with the help of a third app and a different method.

There is a reason words have an inherent meaning. If we use them in any way we wish (such as saying that a feature is not missing from an app because it can be achieved with ANOTHER app, in a way that actually has n othing to do with the mentioned feature), we only make communication harder.

As for iCab, you really should. Not even Atomic Browser is anywhere near in terms of, well, anything ;)
