I'm a huge fan of dual stick shooter games and I'm looking to try out a wide variety of them on the iPhone. I know the virtual thumb sticks are rather annoying, but I still get a kick out of this type of game.

Can you guys give me any recommendations on which ones I should download and give a try?

Mushihimesama Bug Panic (not totally dual stick shooter, but this game ruined all DSS for me).
    Solomon's Keep/Boneyard (rpg lite)
    Pewpew (Vector/geometry DSS)

Edit: Yeah, M. Bug Panic isn't for everyone...but if you want to try it, I'd say try all "normal" DSS first, then try M. Bug Panic. After I played Bug Panic, its hard for me to play other DSS. Other DSS are just not frantic as Bug Panic. The multiplayer is fun as heck..but barely anyone is on though.

I could have sworn I put this in the iOS game forum section! What the heck? Weird. Thanks for the ideas guys, I'll check these ones out for sure.

Keep the ideas coming if you've got more!

The Solomon's games are brilliant fun, especially Solomon's Keep, albeit a little less arcadey than most.

I still really like Revolt a lot, and it has just gotten better with a new update.

The Bug Heroes games are also a blast.

My favorite space-themed games are Meteor Blitz and Alien Space Retro. Isotope is getting up there in age, but still is a pretty great game (Meteor Blitz is rather an old title as well, but has received so much dev support that it still looks like a newer title.;))

Finally, I'm not sure if Mushihimesama Bug Panic can be classified as a dual stick shooter, but if so, it's probably the best of genre. I feel similarly about Pocket RPG.

The only DSS you need to purchase is Isotope. It is still the best DSS I have ever played on any platform. So much depth to it.

    +1!

I'd take out Alien Space Retro and put in Infinity Field though. Also, Age of Zombies Anniversary along with Bullet Time HD belong on my top DSS list. Honestly, I'd throw in Minigore as well because the controls in there are as perfect as it gets for DSS. Mushihimesama Bug Panic is definitely at the top of my list as well though.

  19. Geometry wars touch is an amazing dual stick shooter game.

Call of mini: Zombies is pretty good as well, although I prefer Minigore.
