http://bestof.ign.com/2009/iphone/best-puzzle-game.html I whole-heartedly agree with this decision... do you guys?
I'm playing it right now and I think is a decent game at best. I hate trial and error games. Oh, those Moki creatures make me sick (stupid sound effects).
iblast moki is a great game but personally i would have gone with a few others first, especially drop7.
Are Eliss, Edge and Labyrinth 2 considered puzzle games? If so, I'd give those a nod ahead of iBlast Moki, even though I enjoyed that title as well.
Well I'm pretty sure Eliss and Edge are from 2008 and Labyrinth 2 only recently came out. Still, I mean all those other games run out of levels... iBlast Moki NEVER runs out of levels.
Both Eliss and Edge were released in 2009, and N.O.V.A is just being released today and it got Best Action Game from IGN, so I don't see why Labyrinth 2 couldn't (not to mention, levels don't run out, level editor is available online). Just wanted to back up my point - not trying to take anything away from iBlast Moki, as it is always matter of opinion.
I'd put Labyrinth 2, Edge (if we're counting it as puzzle) and PathPix Pro ahead of iBlast Moki, but I'm not gonna complain since it's a very good game nonetheless.
I don't think any of those qualify as puzzle games. Eliss and Edge have almost no puzzle element to it at all..maybe Labyrinth 2 only a little for some levels neither does Labyrinth 2
The only good choice IGN actually made was giving iBlast Moki this award. Squareball for GotY pretty much defines how fail their lineup was, though.
Maybe, Squareball simply is too hard for you? Otherwise, what speaks against a unique concept, great controls, perfect presentation and a lot of challenging content? Simplicity is something, people often see as a negative point, but how long last the latest FPS and how long last "simple" games like Tetris, Pac-Man, Breakout ... and Squareball
hmmm Labyrinth 2 and Edge (Edgy) might be out of bounds, so... Beat It! was actually really cool. bitFlip was nice too.
