Personally, I'd have to go with Across Age. The storyline I found is much more realistic than Inotia's. The battle system, I actually found easier and the multiplayer in Inotia 2 honestly isn't that good. Puzzles are really fun and at an appropriate level of difficulty, aswell as the boss fights. Some may find the stat system a luxury as you won't have the hassle of putting in points every level. Yes their are things Inotia 2 has that Across Age doesn't as mentioned by MrDark. And 15 hours of gameplay may not seem like a lot. Although some aspects are dull, it is a respected RPG for it's simplicity and will remain a worthy title on my springboard :D

Inotia 2 by far for me and I say FOR ME!
Across Age is just too short and I get annoyed of all the puzzles after a while.

    Across Age for me.

Though I still believe that Across Age and Inotia 2 are the only eastern style-rpgs worth owning for the device.

That's not counting FF1+2 since I bought them, but didn't play them. Played/beat them many times before, not interested in playing them again unless I'm really bored and have nothing else to play. I'm sure they're worth owning though, don't get me wrong ;)

Both games are great in their own respect , but im going to have to go with inotia 2 , i spent 3 days without sleep to be the first person to successfully reach lvl 100 and for a game to make you want to do that is a quality that across age sadly doesn't have.

Just bought Inotia 2 yesterday, and I'm stunned by such a quality.

Even that old 16-bit RPG warm familiar feeling came to me while playing :)

Inotia 2. Though the one-tap repetitive combat gets boring after a while as well.
The battle system in Across Age resembles a bumper cart, not sure if it was because the developers were too lazy to put in actual combat or what (likely they were, and used "uniqueness" as an excuse). You don't actually "fight" in Across Age, you "hurt" enemies by bumping into them with the control pad. It's more of a puzzle game than RPG. There are no character animations (it's like moving a cursor across the screen) as well.
I say wait for Zenonia 2, much more fun than these two.

In Across Age you do kind of "fight" using spells and such but it gets boring. I agree, Zenonia 2 will own.. But my only concern is how much grinding there will be. In the first one, I found myself at level 38 at the Level 56 Boss named Ghost of Ladon. I grinded till level 48 and I still can't beat him :(

Good thread. I wanted to start one like this, but my thread would be more like:

Across Age vs. Inotia 2 vs. Monster RPG 2 vs. Sword of Fargoal vs. waiting for Zenonia 2. I could be missing something else in there, as well. :D

I've been waffling over this for at least the last 2 weeks. Sad, I know. But I'm bumping up against the very very last of the money I have in my US account (have to spend extra money transferring the cash over there) so I have to be extremely selective for a little while, anyway.

Although I just got the expansion for Puzzle Quest and have to start back at the beginning, so maybe I can hold out until Rimelands comes out in about 3 months or so. :D (Probably not though).
