Gunlock Well-Known Member Dec 13, 2010 472 0 16 #5 Gunlock, Jun 1, 2012 One of the best iOS platformers IMHO. Fantastic graphics and music, super smooth animations, nearly perfect controls. Graphics style is a bit similar to Metal Slug series, the same pixel art beauty. Skills and upgrades to unlock, lots of great looking stages to explore, many enemies to beat, and a couple of boss fights to spice things up. My only complaints after beating the game 1. It is a bit short, took me around 6-7 hours to beat (including secrets, unlocking skills etc.), 2. The game was too easy for me. But that could be me, a 28 year old guy that played so many platform games in his life that only a few games can surprise him (Super Meat Boy, Im talking to you ) So for $1.99 this is a fantastic deal for any fan of the genre. I originally downloaded it for my iPad and was mortified. I downloaded it on my iPhone at a later date after the traumatization had settled and really enjoyed every moment! It was originally DSiWare and is the sequel to the incredibly rare Shantae for Gameboy Color. If you can't drop 200 for the original, 2.00 is pretty cheap for this game! undeadcow Well-Known Member Dec 4, 2010 9,493 2 36 Houston, TX #9 undeadcow, Jan 6, 2013 bramblett05 Well-Known Member Aug 29, 2012 5,682 0 0 #10 bramblett05, Jan 6, 2013 Never heard of it ill save it to my wish list for now syntheticvoid Well-Known Member Jun 20, 2010 14,504 124 63 Musician & factory worker. a[V-O-I-D] http://apparentsymmetry.bandcamp.com #11 syntheticvoid, Jan 6, 2013 =oO HERESY!!! I hope the controls work well cause they don't seem moveable. But deathsmiles plays so wonderfully on my tv, looking forward to trying this out hdmi tv with full zoom on. Let you know how it goes. Seil Growtopia Seed Master Aug 30, 2012 367 0 0 US #15 Seil, Jan 6, 2013 I haven't played the iOS version but I did play the original DSiWare release - was a good game. nightc1 Well-Known Member Oct 19, 2012 4,362 0 0 AL #16 nightc1, Jan 6, 2013 DSiWare version was top notch. I 100%'d everything in that game. When I tried the free version on ios I just couldn't get used to the touch controls. Yet so many here seem to not have that issue. Maybe I'll give it another try since its unlikely I'm going to game much outside of my iPhone. True story. I used to own a mint copy of the original game that I bought when the game came out and I sold it a couple years ago with box and all for 250.00 on eBay. Talk about a wise game purchase. I've made money on games in the past but no where near the increase as Shantae. I haven't tried the Shantae port but I played through the dsi version two times in a row, which is something I'd never done before or since. Loved it. It's available on the 3DS now for around £10, worth every penny. A no-brainer at this price. I hope WayForward port over some of their other Nintendo DS games, starting with Mighty Flip Champs. acrotran Well-Known Member Jul 31, 2010 741 0 0 #20 acrotran, Jan 7, 2013 Yep.
