I actually had this on my wish list, and was happy to see it go on sale. ($4.99 in the US and Cdn app stores, btw) I wonder how necessary those in app purchases are, since I noticed some starter packs for various classes are available as IAP.

Most underrated game in appstore in my opinion. Good setting, decent story, some moral choices, multiple ways of completing most quests (and you actually get rewarded if you are persuasive enough to avoid fights). Classless system is a win - I don't think I ever put that much thought into leveling up in any other game ever. If you want to approach enemy in stealth, backstab him, then stun with a hammer, freeze him with magic, gain distance and finish him off with arrows - this is the game. You also have a choice of party members, and active pause you can activate in combat. The world is pretty rich (even though it is technically instanced, and not an open one), and the world areas a well designed both in terms of art and in terms of benefitting the gameplay and the joy of exploration. Significant amount of nice loving touches in this game - for example there are secret areas and items that you will see only if you perception is high enough. Edit: and yes, the iap are purely optional, game's balance is not rigged to make you pay, they are in no way needed for completing or enjoying the game, (and may probably even make it more boring at the start due to the items you recieve, although I do not know if said items are OP). I'd say they are worth buying for the extra quests, if you are already 3-5 hours into the game and you feel like you like it and you want to support the dev and you want that extra quest content. You probably don't want to buy game guide on your first run because you will probably want too find all you can yourself first for the satisfaction. If you want to do a second soulless completionist run afterwards the guide may help though. fulcizombie Well-Known Member Dec 17, 2011 393 0 16 #10 fulcizombie, Dec 23, 2015 The game seems to have a serious sound problem . There appears to be no music at all which a fault of the app since their is music in settings . Other than that the characters are really ugly . It's like playing a game from a time capsule that holds up superbly to this day, the atmosphere & gameplay are fantastic. fulcizombie Well-Known Member Dec 17, 2011 393 0 16 #12 fulcizombie, Dec 23, 2015 Other older games have much better character models. Anyway the real issue is the sound , it's like they forgot to update (??????) the app when it comes to the sound . Really weird..... I'm on 9.2 not that it should matter. fulcizombie Well-Known Member Dec 17, 2011 393 0 16 #14 fulcizombie, Dec 23, 2015 You mean it plays music just fine ? WTH ???
