You might want to use the @ symbol for roguelikes, since that's universally recognized as the hero in most ASCII roguelikes.
Let me know if anyone notices missing RPG style games. Being obsessed with turn based JRPGs I was amazed to find Gailardia, which I had not heard of; despite some UI problems that game is a gem. Hopefully others can discover new RPG games here. App Store needs more RPG content.
Dayummmmm son! I looked through my ipod to try to catch any that you might have missed, but you had them all, even only half rpgs, like Dungeon Raid. Of course, I am not a total ios rpg nerd, but as far as i can tell, this list is pretty much comprehensive! Good job

Hello, i want to start by saying that i read a lot of threads about rpg games, and i think that this one is the perfect one to put this question, so anyone with experience please help me! Firstly i played dungeon hunter 1 & 2 and Battleheart on iphone, as the only rpg games! So here is my problem i want to choose a rpg game that can offer a beautiful story, i want to say many skills nad with a nice flow to it! Currently i have my eyes on Fantastic Knight, Zenonia 3, Exitium, Eternal Legacy and Chaos Rings! Also i read many good reviews on TA about Ash, Wild Frontier and of course Final Fantasy (but i don`t want the last one) Sorry if i was in some case vague ), but any suggestions would be very appreciated
You have tabs and indents, why not make this into a table with game names on the left and genres on the right instead of an incomprehensible set of weird symbols?
most of the games in this list are not even close to rpg, with such definitions one can call basically any game - some type of rpg.
I agree the term RPG is used too generously. For the list I tried to include games that included a combination of leveling up or character development system, world exploration, loot acquisition, and/or fantasy theme. If you notice specific games that are in no way RPGs let me know and I'll consider removing them. Personally a lot of the side scrolling games I do not consider to be RPGs but since it seems common interpretation is to view them as such they were included. Tables are a great suggestion. I looked into the formating for inserting tables into vbulletin because I wanted to include App Store links and Touch arcade links. My vbulletin coding research suggested tables were beyond me. Also there is a text limit within 1 post and adding extra coding might consume that limit (just starting to add App Store links did). I can review a tab and indent system to better organize, let me toy around with it when I get a chance.
Are there any classic (top down perspective) action RPG's in that big list that are not KRPG's? I never was able to find any.
I enjoyed Fantastic Knight (which is more customizable and has a better story than Exitium). Although it's not as popular I'd recommend Fantastic Knight out of your options. Final Fantasy is a fun game but the story is very generic, it's strength is environmental puzzles and world exploration so might not be to your taste. Eternal Legacy has a very large file size and is failry bland. I haven't gottent around to Zenonia 3 or Chaos Rings. Others to consider are The Quest and Knighturn.
