Hi, I am trying to preserve the game soulcalibur: unbreakable soul. It was an online required ios game that has been cancelled. I am looking for someone who still has this installed on there iphone from when it was active May 2014 to December 2014. The ipa can still be redownloaded if it is in your purchase history, but when you first started the game there was a 400 meg data download from namco's servers, that I am missing. Anyone have an old iphone laying around that still has this on it? Thanks Jim
I was doing some digging, and the initial first time download was 397 meg. I had two leads, but they were both not complete data downloads of the first time 397 meg file. So I am still looking. This game will be preserved for everyone for free if I can get this data and get a private server working. So please keep on looking. Thanks
I have been doing more digging on the web. I believe the company who created this game for namco was Platinum Egg Inc. I contacted the ceo of this company who was listed on linkedin has having worked on this game. I never got any response back. Anyone who is in the game industry know this company? Is it ok to post the ceo's name on here? Thanks
It's not gonna happen. It's not your game and they will sue the hell out of you if you have a private server of it up
Sense this is about game preservation, even if the private server is a gray area, I would still like to preserve the game data for future fans. There is a story in the game that could be preserved for everyone. This was all located in that 400 meg download. I am sure there are sprites and stuff in there to to preserve too. Thanks p.s. The private server is a long shot anyway. It might not even be possible.
You are going a bit far for this game. If it didn't even make a year in the appstore then it must've had issuses. Mind if I ask why the obsession? Either way, the private server bit is sketch city. I am certain that it is the same situation as private servers for World of Warcraft and others, as in Namco can come down on you and hard. Also aren't IAPs tied to servers?
I collect videogames, and soul calibur is one of my favorite series. I somehow missed this game though. I realize that the game might be bad, but I don't care. I just want to somehow try it, or at least look through the games data to see the story etc. I feel like my collection isn't complete without it. Thanks
It seems no one has anything good to say about the game. Googled about it and people are bashing it badly as a dull game with agressive IAP push.
Anyone know any other forums that might have people who collect and preserve data from videogames? Thanks
I did find the data, but it is on a non jailbreakable ipad 2. So I hope someone else has it, or a new jailbreak for 32 bit ipads come out.
