Bitcoin is a failing virtual currency used by drug dealers and pedophiles.

Hopefully this isn't seen as too off-topic, the genres share a lot of the same fanbase anyway. Oh, and some might argue these aren't all strictly Stoner Rock, but there's so much crossover these days I just went where my research took me.

The first one should be obvious, but for the unenlightened:

Let me know if you want a more complete list :)

I tried to get into Clutch but failed. I don't hate them, it just doesn't hook me. I prefer fuzzier, droning riffs with the vocals pushed a little further back into the mix. I could probably actually use a few software plugins to slow their songs down to half speed and drown out the singer a bit, then I'd enjoy it.

Me too. But I really like clutch. Dunno why. I've liked them for years and years. Since the release of Blast Tyrant.

Slipknot is very much Metal and a highly respected band at that.

Iron Maiden is Hard Rock at best.

The one thing we can all agree on is that people who argue over genre definitions are complete assholes.

Most genres overlap some other genre (or multiple genres), so calling a specific band (or album or song) two different genres isn't that uncommon. Some hard rock bands can also be considered metal. Some rap artists can also be considered hip hop artists. Some alternative rock bands can be considered electronic. A decent portion of musicians have their own style to them (while others are more generic, like Nickelback... Bleh).

Had to scroll back a page to see what you were talking about...

I can still remember when Pearl Jam "broke," and musician friends practically fist-fought over whether they were still technically "alternative..."

    Yeah, it happened.
