Heyho folks, we are happy to announce our first iPhone/iTouch game. It's called iAtoms and currently in review for the AppStore (and hopefully it won't take too long...). The game is pretty simple, you place atoms on an 8*8 game board and (maybe) create big chain reactions. The goal is to give all atoms on the game board your color. The game can be played with up to three friends on one device or via LAN/Internt. You can also play against the AI. Not really at the moment as we already submitted it. We of course had it tested by several people and of course tested it ourselves a lot. Here is a short clip showing four AI players playing against each other:
How do you create the chains? Is that explained in the app? Red was almost done, then came back to win. Looks like cyan went out in 1 turn. Interesting mechanics.
There is an explanation in the app on how to play the game. It is a bit hard to explain although it is very simpel... A filed in a corner can hold only one atom if you place a second one in that field, it will "explode" and the two atoms will move into the two fields next to the corner. A field at an edge can hold up to 2 atoms and all the other fields can hold up to 3 atoms. You can only place new atoms into an empty field or a field which already holds atoms of your color. If a field "explodes", and the sourrounding fileds contain atoms of another color, they will change to your color. If for example a corner filed explodes and one of the edge fileds next to it contains already two atoms, the atom of your corner will get also into that field and make it explode as well and so on. It is very easy and mainly learning by doing. The game can change very fast, in the end, but usually only if you are doing a mistake or don´t notice a danger by what your opponents are doing. We had a lot of fun playing it in multiplayer. But it is also quite fun to try to win against the AI, even though the AI does many not optimal moves, it is able to stay on the board quite long...

Congratulations on your release! Can you play multiplayer over bluetooth? I like the music, and watching the atoms rotate is mesmerizing...
