    Hello TouchArcade!

My name is Frank DiCola and I'm very new to this forum, so I hope you will welcome me with open arms. I understand this particular forum is the place for promoting upcoming games and finding beta testers, so I think I'm in the right place. Our game is called Where Shadows Slumber, which some of you may remember because someone posted about it way back when the demo released last November: http://forums.toucharcade.com/showthread.php?t=296835

It's a puzzle adventure game where you control a little old man with a lantern. The world is entirely pitch black except from the light coming from your lantern. When shadows move across things in the map, they can change - that's our main mechanic. We took visual inspiration from Monument Valley, Ico, and Lara Croft GO. The style of flat lighting was developed in-house by the game's programmer, Jack.

    Features:
    • - Simple tap and drag controls
    • - Mind bending shadow mechanics
    • - Creepy, fragmentary story
    • - Atmospheric sound effects and music
    • - Beautiful flat, high contrast aesthetics

    Description:
Where Shadows Slumber is a brooding puzzle game that takes place in a shadowy, abandoned world. You will aid the main character in his search for redemption - a search that spans numerous worlds and introduces you to a cast of mysterious figures. Who rules this forgotten land? And who will be left once the adventure draws to its inevitable conclusion?

The only tool at your disposal - besides your intellect - is the chaotic nature of the universe. Anything that is not touched by light has the freedom to change. This governing principle will be your guide in the darkness, but also your undoing. After all, if you are not touched by the light, you have the freedom to change as well. What will you become?

    News:
I had a great interview with Robert Adams of TechRaptor, check it out here: https://techraptor.net/content/play-nyc-2017-a-conversation-with-frank-dicola-about-where-shadows-slumber It's a long article because we spoke for nearly an hour, but it gives you a good behind the scenes look at the game.

    Play Our Demo:
Our demo is available on iOS, believe it or not: https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/id1168466845

I wanted to request some feedback from the TouchArcade community and share some resources about the game. Please let me know what you think about the game and some of the subjects mentioned in the article, like my justification for the price of the app. Don't be afraid to be critical, as long as you're polite. This is the stage of the process where Jack and I need to get smacked upside the head if we're not on the right track. I want to know what everyone really thinks.

Of course, I can also answer any questions you have!

Wow, I'm glad to hear that MetaGonzo! We were worried people forgot about it since it's been nearly a year. We always intended to release a full game after the demo, but I think AAA devs usually release the demo a lot closer to launch. For us, the demo was like a first step / proof-of-concept to get our foot in the door. I appreciate your patience, thanks for joining the beta list [ ^_^]!
