"We found that your app contains content that many audiences would find objectionable, which is not in compliance with the App Store Review Guidelines.

Specifically, we noticed your app concept is objectionable." by Apple.

Our game is a left right slashing defense game where u defend your "business" against poo and enemies, but it seems like Apple didn't like the concept.

This is our first game and we are very confused with the "concept objectionable" comment given by Apple, we checked there are quite an amount of games using poo as the theme and they are on the store with a 9+ rating, I resubmitted it and there is no news so far, anyone got any ideas?

    uhhh, slashing poo...

Since you say there's other games with the same theme, i guess it might depend on the reviewer.

    They are 2 possibilities

1- The reviewer didn't like your game and use the "poo" excuse. And I will be ok with the reviewer if the App Store was perfectly clean but it's not (see my thread "behind the App Store"

2- You're game is really good but scared about the idea that your "poo" game could arrived in the top 10

    My suggestion, don't use "poo"

Could it be about what they are wondering your "business" refers to? Why the quotes?

Color the poo white and call it Shaving Cream or froyo and you're all set.

It seems like the only way is to fix the 'poo'...

That's weird because I know for a fact that Sushi Boy has falling poo as an obstacle to avoid and that game wasn't rejected by Apple

Probably because it's not the main thing you see all the time and you're not supposed to slash it. So it would be more of just a thing in the game.

I agree with jpang. They specifically say the CONCEPT is objectionable, not just an instance of poo which might be encountered during the game.

It may well be the poo thing, bit bear in mind that you game is reviewed by people and not a computer.

So what one person rejects may be let through by another. Have you tried simple resubmitting it?

I'd give that a go, and if that fails then change the concept.

Of course it is the poo thing. The game is already flagged as objectionable, so simply resubmitting it is unlikely to get it through. I would suggest the following: remove any text reference to "poo" and say it is ice cream instead. You could even add a flavor picker allowing strawberry, chocolate, vanilla. Keep in mind also that for "objectionable content" screenshots are more likely to get noticed that infant content. You can use less suggestive screenshots then switch it up later after it is approved.

The name is misspelled on purpose, it has something to do with the story.

We resubmitted it with a rating of 12+ and see how it goes.
I guess the only thing we can do is go on the "to change list" and change it bit by bit every time it is rejected.

Apple now really only rejects porn apps or some poo/fart apps.

Ok, resubmission with 12+ rating failed with the same reason, I guess I have to work around more with the content.

Personally I would just redraw the poo as mud and remove all reference to poo and call it mud slinging. That way you don't need to change your colour palette anywhere and kids can play it. No point in trying to force this one through (no pun intended).
