Hi Touch Arcade! Just wanted to share my upcoming iOS game Lastronaut! I am the Lead Mobile Designer at Firefox (Mozilla) and I have been working on this game with a friend for 2 years. We're from Toronto, Canada and grew up playing video games on the NES ans SNES... and have always dreamed of giving something back to the industry I loved. This is my love-letter to gaming, and will be free, forever. And when I say free, i mean FREE. No ads, no in-app purchases, no nothing just you and the game "The year is 2015: Mankind has created it's first sentient machine: a humanoid robot. If we only knew what would happen next, we probably could have saved ourselves. Now, were abandoning the only planet weve ever known." Lastronaut is a pixel-packed, adrenaline-fueled dash for your life as you run, jump, dodge and fire your way through the machine army, equipped with an arsenal of human and robotic weapons to cause mayhem with. At dawn, as the rest of humanity lifts off in the distance, its your mission to reach the last rocket ship leaving Earth. Your life depends on it. Price: Free Trailer: Subscribe to the TouchArcade YouTube channel What to expect from Lastronaut: - Infinite gameplay, providing hours of increasing challenge - A multitude of weapons - Beautiful, hand-crafted artwork and animation & original music - Chaotic action, slow-mo effects, explosions, and more explosions - Local gameplay stats: distance travelled, total kills, and more! - Global leaderboards and world ranking through Game Center - Plenty of achievements to find! - Save and share your final moments to Facebook or Twitter Thanks for checking it out, and follow http://twitter.com/darrinhenein for details and our release date announcement! Thanks, Darrin
Hey there! I helped out a bit on the development side of this fine lookin' app. If you have any questions feel free to ask away! EDIT: Thanks Appser! Glad to hear that
If it plays half as good as it looks, my only disappointment would be not being able to support you a bit, but your glorious intention is very appreciated, thanks. Looking very forward to the release on the __.__.2015 ?
Thank you so much Qwertz555! Right now, assuming everything works out, we are hoping for a March 5, 2015 release. I will update this thread when we confirm. Maybe I will add a donate button to lastronautgame.com? I never imagined people would want to support us
Sweet, coolpepper43! I will have to check that game out Hope you love this one just as much when it comes out!!!
This game looks amazing! But I have a question, what devices will be compatibe? BTW: My favorite web browser is Firefox so seeing one of the persons behind it making a game makes me quite excited
TheOutlander: Thank you so much! Glad to hear you like Firefox, as well. We think it's pretty great This will work on all iPhones and iPod touches that are iOS 7+, and will run on all iPads in scaled mode.
Thanks you two guys!! A FREE GAME THATS FREE!!! You guys are awesome. Letting us have something for nothing that you'll put your own time and effort and money into is super generous. I agree there should be a donate button in game. I mean if anything you expected to make NOTHING so anything is a BONUS (;
Hey aconfusedkender! Glad you're excited about the price tag We're just hoping that as many people as possible will have a chance to play Lastronaut, and didn't want price to be an issue. Support us by following us on twitter and buying our future games
Oh man... look who is on the scene... Thanks for the endorsement Alto! If Lastronaut comes out late, it's because I'm literally obsessed with playing Alto's Adventure.
This looks beautiful. I grew up on NES as well. Still a big supporter of Nintendo. All 3 of my boys are well versed in the classics thanks to WiiWare, Virtual Shop etc. I just got my first New 3DS XL last week since the DS Lite. Anywho I play, try & buy ever indie game I can find on iOS, Android, BlackBerry 10, Steam, WiiU & now the New 3DS XL. Looking forward to this for damn sure.
This game looks amazing and the thing I'm anticipating the most is... The slow motion. It completely changes your perspective of that moment with all the rockets launching and guns blazing and it makes it alot more immersive so thank you, sir.
