Hello! I'm Antonio, from StormBASIC games. We are preparing an update of Ankagua, and I have a poll! Should we quit the startup video from the game?
Quit? You mean delete it? Startup videos make the game fancier, as long as there's an option to skip. I don't know what Ankagua is, some explanation?
Ankagua3D is a puzzle game (sokoban style), developed by StormBASIC games. Here are some screenshots:
You mean the vid that comes on when you start the app? Why would you remove it? Just have an option to skip the vid, as other start up vids do.
We can skip it whenever we like. As long as it's there, it provides a context to the game, which I think is GOOD! Do you want to do it to make the app size smaller?
Yes, some users said that don't like the video...and if we quit it, the app will be smaller about 1mb
don't get rid of it, just the option to "skip" the video. It adds personality to the game and I like the way it looks.
As others have mentioned, since there's a "skip" button, I'm not bothered at all. I'd say, if anything, make it so that it auto starts only on the first startup (like most tutorials). Then on subsequent startups, just go straight to the main menu... But make the video viewable in options. I guess this doesn't solve the issue of freeing up space... But I think it's nice to have context.
Why'd you need to lower the size anyway? The game is currently under 10MB as is. Don't remove the vid. It has a skip option. The big change that you absolutely NEED to make is a screen orientation flip option. In the current orientation the game is quite comfortable for iPod touch users to play, as the headphone jack sticks out on the upper right hand side (when holding the device in the current landscape mode)...but this might be uncomfortable for iPhone users to play as the iPhone has its headphone port located differently from the iPod touch. Solution? An option to flip the screen orientation. That way no user, regardless of device they own, will suffer from having the headphone jack jabbing them in the hand whilst playing (or playing with their hands in uncomfortable angles so as not to bend the contacts, which has happened to a few users, btw)/ Check nearly all of Gameloft's games that are to be played in landscape for an example. Whichever way the user holds their device in landscape (to suit their preference and device owned) they will have the headphone jack located on the upper right hand side. Screen orientation flip option. Absolutely essential for each and every last game meant to be played in landscape.
1 MB is like ~1/4 the size of a song, nobody is that tight on memory space in their iDevice. I agree with the rest, don't can the video entirely, start it as usual, just include the option to skip it.
I wouldn't remove the video either. It's add some context what's going on, and I still like watching it on occasion.
Ankagua3D Finally, we didn't remove the video. To all Ankagua Users: We are making a solution list for the more difficult levels, that will be available at www.stormbasic.com (we are trying avoid some headaches)
NOOOO!!!! DOOONN'T! (seriously, not a problem, it will be a good test of my will power... must resist, not peak... ) PS I do believe it would be nice if the character left each room through the exit when a level is completed.
First solutions published! First solutions of the more difficult levels of Ankagua, now available at: www.stormbasic.com Hope this help with headaches!
You wasted your time, I will not look! The levels of theupdae are taking me much longer, I don't know if I'm getting older or what, but the difficulty is excellent! So glad I got this!
