EDIT: Game is coming on March 25th Hi everyone. I'm working on a roguelike game called Quest of Dungeons. I have a thread on the iPad forums already but since the game has migrated to a Universal build I decided that it was time to present it here. I'm not trying to spam Admins, I swear So today I made a smal trailer, I hope you guys like it. Here's a screenshot of the game running on the iPad. If you want you can check the older iPad thread, it has lots of other screenshots and interesting discussions of the game.
My sir. You have a masterpiece here. If you need any testing or some feedback, shoot some words my way and I would be glad to help.
This looks pretty cool from what we can see. I'm interested in beta testing! Lets us know when it's ready for testing.
Thank you for making this Universal; where do I pre-order? On 8/12/13 in the iPad secion the developer comments the game is about 70% complete and is a turn based roguelike. Here's the teaser trailer:
no pre orders yet and yes, the game is very close to being finished, right now my estimate is early October.
Is there any truth to rumors the developer for Quest of Dungeons was kidnapped by pirates and forced to dig trenches instead of developing what seems to be on of the more promising roguelikes to come through lately?
Hi there. It's going well but still not 100% complete. Right now I'm fixing issues testers have reported and adding stuff they suggest that makes sense. Right now it's just a bunch of small issues or cosmetic changes but I want it to be as best as I can. Some of the stuff that I'm improving/adding is: -iOS 7 - full compatible now, luckily only 2 small issues. -Small (optional) tutorial to explain how to attack/walk and use magics. Some players never even realized they had a magic/skill button and the game gets much harder that way, just attacking. For some classes (like the Wizard) it's probably impossible. -Assassin can put and disable traps. Disable chance depends on it's level. -Overall difficulty is getting optimized. -Ambient sound only - while listening to music can be fun, I added an option to ear just caves/ambient sound, boss fights music still kicks in. But it's always possible to simple disable all music and let fx only or disable it all. There's other stuff but I don't remember all. But fear not, I'm still working on the game as fast as I can
Matt Jennings is also creating a similar game with the same onyx tile set. called "Return to Tolagal" http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8a90XgmjSBI wasnt sure if this was the same and it was renamed or something. Both look good tho!
Aprox. 8 months. I had done some work on generic roguelike mechanics so by the time I started Quest of Dungeons (September) I had much of the mechanics in place
Hi everyone. I'm sorry for the lack of updates. Right now I'm trying to get everything in place for a January release. I'm trying to get both the iPhone/iPad and Mac/PC releases at the same time which can be a bit tricky to schedule. If not possible then the iOS version will be the first one. I got the game approved yesterday on the App Store (both iOS and Mac) but it's not the final build. I just wanted to get the game approved before the whole "Christmas hurricane". So I'm working on fixing some of the remaining issues and then I'll submit the final build to be accepted. I have a date in mind, January 14th, but it's tentative. Too much stuff for one person to handle in such a short time but I'm trying everything I can
