Cool! You guys at Ayopa have been publishing some sweet games lately, and this looks like it'll be another one!
Thank you batgirl! This is the first game from our studio so as you can imagine we're very excited. Countdown to launch is only 5 days (4/9).
Any questions/comments/ideas are welcome - the game launches on Wednesday and is looking very polished and massively fun to play!
For the launch edition, we'll have four different weapons to equip your truck as you battle the robots: Single Scoop, Rapid Pop, Boomsicle, and Hot Fudge Funday. Each of the weapons has a different fire style and all are upgradable so you can equip your truck with whatever style you prefer and will be best suited to earn the bonus objectives for each level.
Haha Hot Fudge Funday. I like the names! One thing: I noticed there's 5 slots on the bottom in the trailer, are you keeping 1 flavor secret? The more I look at it, the more I love the art style. The planets look fantastic with really detailed terrain backrounds!
Good eye! At launch there will be four ice cream weapons but there could be additional options that show up in future versions. How's that for a teaser. Thank you for the kind words. We're really happy with how the style turned out. Tried to keep it quirky and cartoon centered, but detailed enough to show variation in the objects.
There are lots of different enemies and environments as well - some of the robots remind me of classic shooters like Defender!
Yeah it all really does looks fantastic, the robot models add a lot of life to the way the game looks because they're 3D, so when they move and they kinda wobble etc. It creates a really appealing look when it's all in motion. Gettin' really close to release now, you guys excited?
The sequence when Spinston steals the ice cream by beaming it up is inspired by the old school Defender game when the ships would try and capture the people. Good news here, unlike Defender, you don't have to try and catch the ice cream when it falls back to the ground.
Oh yeah! Everyone here at the office is buzzing about with an extra pep in their step - especially for a Monday. Wednesday (launch day) is going to be even more party-esque around here.
Ha. Not Wednesday, but we are doing an ice cream party here for the office building on Monday. Let the other companies in our same building play the game and hang out.
Haha sounds fun. Well, good luck the release, I'm looking forward to it! Fingers crossed for you to get featured
