Your goal is to develop all 4 of the key spheres of civilization: Settlements, Temples, Farms, and Markets. To do this, you will position your leaders, create and extend kingdoms, build monuments, and resolve conflicts. Tension arises when kingdoms connect and leaders clash on the board, with only one leader of each type surviving. You will thus aquire victory points in each of the four spheres. The winner is the player who develops their civilization in the most balanced way, without revealing a sphere of weakness. With no setup time required, no pieces to lose, and no arguments about the rules, the future of board games is here and Tigris & Euphrates gives you exactly what you want -- to play! How to play: During their turn, the active player may carry out up to two of the following actions, in any order: - Position (place, move or remove) a leader. - Place a tile and earn a victory point. - Place a catastrophe tile. - Swap up to 6 tiles The active player may choose two different actions, or the same action twice. Features ======== No set up required Support for 3 modes of play: solo, "pass and play," and "hotseat" (around the table) play Stunning HD graphics for iPad, Retina, and original iPhone/iPod screens In-game hints make it easy to learn the game Tested on iOS 3.1.3 through iOS 5.0 Play your own iPod music Note: you must install iOS 5 on your device in order to play T&E online! I picked up Tigris & Euphrates. Should I get some of these others too? How do they compare? Reiner Knizia newbie here (I downloaded Money but have yet to play). Rokrdude Well-Known Member May 14, 2011 1,286 0 36 #6 Rokrdude, Feb 29, 2012 Each one is totally different game Tigres & Euphrates being deepest and most beautifully implemented on iOS followed by Ra and finally Medici All are highly recommended You might also want to also consider getting Tikal on lowest price ever Agas Well-Known Member Jan 28, 2011 2,347 0 0 #7 Agas, Feb 29, 2012 I have all other except this one (waiting for price drop like this) and the best for me is Medici (I picked up the HD version just now for my new iPad). For me Ra is good for one or two games and then it's just too long for one game session (because of all the animation and stuff). So I hardly played it. But it's a good game and for 99c it's a good deal. As for Tikal, I don't really like it. It's too complicated. You should check the thread to grab the impression on that game. VOGamer Well-Known Member Mar 20, 2011 107 0 0 #15 VOGamer, Mar 5, 2012 Been looking for some board games that I can play offline. I notice that Tigris & Euphrates and their various other games are on sale. If I could choose just 1, any suggestion which one to get? Arges Well-Known Member Dec 21, 2011 78 0 0 Game Developer http://hairytalesgame.com/ #16 Arges, Apr 21, 2012 I've been playing Tigris and Euphrates, and can really see the depth in it - even with two novice computers it keeps surprising me. I had never played the game before, but that's a good sign in any case. You will have to go through the tutorial, and even after you've done so you're likely to be left scratching your head at some of the resolution cases, so it's not for those squeamish about reviewing a rules wall of text. It does have some glitches: for example, when I click Rematch it re-launches the game, but doesn't allow you to do anything, nor do any of the AI opponents play. Seems like I always have to start a game from scratch. Even so, the game's enjoyable, and I can see myself taking some time to explore the various strategies, so I don't mind recommending it. kzwen Well-Known Member Jun 25, 2010 1,345 0 0 #17 kzwen, Apr 21, 2012 Don't bump a price drop thread when the price ain't dropping.
