    Hey everybody,
Our small, yet super enthusiastic team has been working on a big RPG project for the last 18 months. We are independent developers who try give this world something memorable. Unfortunately, we are constantly lacking budget and in order to keep our company alive, we made retro style game called Be Like Jack with a hope to make some money for our main project. It's a kind of a game you would play on NES in 80-90s.

What you think is the best way to attract traffic (and ROI of course) without wasting thousands of dollars which we dont have?
    Please advise.
    Thank you

You're asking a lot. There are thousands of developers in the same situation.

Basically the answer is that you have to think of some really clever way that no-one else has thought of yet to get everyone's attention.

    Not helpful I know.

Well as dancj said it, it's pretty hard. Everybody want attention for their games and with thousands of games being released every month it's hard to stand out.

The cheapest (but time consuming) way is to post some relevant articles on forums, blogs to catch people's attention. Talk about your game, how did your do it, its development challenges, contact the press...

There is no magic formula and it takes a lot of effort.
Posting like you did here could help promoting your game but you will need to add more details (link to your game info, embed a trailer...).

    Good luck :)
