Playstation Vita Discussion Thread

I remember Psygnosis, loved them when I had my C64/Amiga. Lemmings, Shadow of the Beast and Barbarian were some of the games I loved most. I remember them and Bitmap Brothers most when I has a young teen.

I read somewhere that the majority of employees are being absorbed into other Sony studios, and that the studio itself would still get used- just not for making games. Hopefully they still make WipEout games- if not, I'm okay with it. The series had a long run. At least they're keeping most of the talent though... Still saddened by this news.

Though it will be interesting to be able to play FF7, all of these features should have shipped with the system day one. Ultra basic things such as the PS3 displaying Vita status and trophies are still left out. Maybe with the PS4 launch...

 

Some people are saving the update is already available. Checking my Vita now. Also SCEA, are you really that incompetent?

It's available, I'm downloading it right now, still shocked after reading the european list.

 

Apparently, there is a lot more PS1 games compatible with the Vita in NA- they just aren't on PSN. You can do the PS3 transfer trick that was used to get unavailable PSP games on the Vita. List of titles confirmed to be working so far:

That would have to come with a PS3 update, and they might have to update/reconfigure their servers too.


EDIT: So I updated, and WHAT THE FRICK they changed the backgrounds too. I liked my old one . The colors were much cooler looking.

EDIT 2: They added/changed quite a bit I didn't know about. Much bigger update than I though it was.

 

I'm about to charge mine fully and then update I like the current backgrounds myself I even have a similar live wallpaper running on my Android phone, guess I have no real choice but to update anyway if I ever want to play PS1 games.

I do quite like the idea of using buttons on the menu and using the back touchpad for scrolling in the browser the rest I couldn't really care less about i'd rather they just gave us a real browser option instead of netfront.

edit: Installed with no issues everything seems ok apart from the fact I can't find a single PS1 game on the store, I guess they haven't added them yet here or something although I did notice Persona 3 psp is now £12.99 I might get that to see what the fuss is about.

Also just noticed Breath of Fire 3 for £3.99 that's a bargain I think that games almost as good as the final fantasy games.

 

Ps1 games not available until 29th- kinda feel sorry for non EU ppl cos that list sucks if u dont own a ps3 :/
