I've played for awhile and gotten to everyone except Odin. A tip worth suggesting: the relic shop gives a free shuffle of new relics every hour. So I could pretty much update the choices until I got what I wanted. Oh and get Spoiler the Commander's Totem as the 1st relic. Each level costs 1 cube for 10% damage. Only bad thing I see is the lag. It can get bad at times with so much going on at once. Laire Well-Known Member Feb 4, 2012 586 0 0 Overworked Graphic Designer :) https://www.facebook.com/Peridot.Weapon #4 Laire, Feb 13, 2016 I'm liking this one. A lot of it is "standard fare" for a clicker, but I suppose if it isn't broken, you don't need to fix it. The interface also makes everything tiny on the phone so I don't really feel any sort of attachment to the mercenaries - more often than not I'm tapping on them instead of looking at them It's nice to have a game that actually gives you full "passive gold rewards" when you're not playing the game - the last several tappers I've looked at have all restricted this, meaning if you want to get anywhere you're going to be slowly killing your battery as you leave the phone plugged in overnight. In regards to Mercenary equipment, once you get more of them - I assume only the outfit currently being worn provides any of the boosts that you can receive by spending gems? Pyapiopi Well-Known Member Sep 13, 2014 249 0 0 #5 Pyapiopi, Feb 13, 2016 You definitely only so get the benefit of the currently equipped outfit. I'm finding its not worth messing with any of these yet or spending gems until you have a ton of outfits. They seem like they will be more noticeable once you have a set of the same bonuses on multiple heroes. Laire Well-Known Member Feb 4, 2012 586 0 0 Overworked Graphic Designer :) https://www.facebook.com/Peridot.Weapon #6 Laire, Feb 13, 2016 That's what I figured. I imagine every upgrade will cost increasingly more gems, so they wouldn't want you to "cheat the system" by upgrading everyone's Base Equipment once to get the same benefits as one person upgraded 30 times. That said, I haven't even done this game's version of a "Rebirth" yet, so it's a bit early for me to worry about how to get the best returns on upgrade investments Pyapiopi Well-Known Member Sep 13, 2014 249 0 0 #7 Pyapiopi, Feb 13, 2016 That's correct, although by what scale I'm not sure. I have only upgraded one once. First level costs 10 gems and the next upgrade costs 20 and provides the same benefits. Wether it increases 10 each time or doubles I'm not sure. But I can definitely say the base costume for mercenaries is garbage. You get dps multipliers pretty easily after your first withdraw that the 2% per level is crap. indalico Well-Known Member Aug 25, 2011 660 0 16 ohio #8 indalico, Feb 14, 2016 I maxed out Harper's 4th item. Cost was 150 total (10+20+30+40+50) and its stats are 5% gold, 5 seconds, and 10% chance. I think all the stats had 5 on it to begin with. Pyapiopi Well-Known Member Sep 13, 2014 249 0 0 #10 Pyapiopi, Feb 14, 2016 Just a quick tip I learned. The mercenary equipment that deals 200% dps at a 5%(cap 10%) per attack is absolutely beast. I can imagine one you have this on a few heroes ou can wreck bosses. For those wondering it deals 200% of your total DPS not just that heroes DPS. Huge instant damage boost against bosses (even the occasional insta kill regular mob). indalico Well-Known Member Aug 25, 2011 660 0 16 ohio #11 indalico, Feb 14, 2016 That might be the best one. Gold was nice, except that caused things to lag. I've not seen any lag since getting rid of the gold buffs. Pyapiopi Well-Known Member Sep 13, 2014 249 0 0 #12 Pyapiopi, Feb 14, 2016 Ya the gold one seems nice on paper and I will probably use that one on heroes that have that and not the direct damage ones. All the equipment though that provides tap bonuses I feel won't be getting any use though. DPS in this game is so strong compared to taps so far. Pyapiopi Well-Known Member Sep 13, 2014 249 0 0 #13 Pyapiopi, Feb 15, 2016 I would like to add that I was wrong, tap damage definitely catches up lol. And also I love the dev for not screwing us by evolving mercenaries. I hated that in tap Titans that if you evolved a hero you lost all of its passive traits. It made it counter productive to evolve heroes 90% of the time. Here when you evolve they get a damage boost and you can further increase the stats the traits provide. It's beautiful. No longer am I punished for evolving a hero. At least that was the company before it was released in the Us. Laire Well-Known Member Feb 4, 2012 586 0 0 Overworked Graphic Designer :) https://www.facebook.com/Peridot.Weapon #16 Laire, Feb 15, 2016 Here's an unusual question - but what are you ever really going to use Diamonds ON? Short of upgrading Mercenary equipment, every upgrade seems to be 100% "spend diamonds on this because you're lazy." Which to a certain extent is ALWAYS the case , but none of them feel like they're ever worth doing. Instant-kill a boss, auto-tap for five minutes, get a cash infusion/timer reset? No long-term benefit to any of them, and the Withdrawal sounds too expensive at 300 Diamonds. I spent the dollar on "Surprise Gift of Princess," but it's odd they'd design the game in a way that I feel no desire to invest in premium resources (unless more options appear later). In regards to equipment, does it always unlock in order? Will you get all of Flying Falcon's gear before you get gear for any other character? It's interesting how you can try "free samples" of all the relics. Buy your second relic for 2 Cubes, and then sell it back for 2 Cubes if it doesn't seem like it will have any long-term value for you. Pyapiopi Well-Known Member Sep 13, 2014 249 0 0 #17 Pyapiopi, Feb 15, 2016 The diamonds are really only for upgrading mercensry equipment and buying gold. Don't pin that on laziness though. Sometimes it can save you hours and hours of trying to get over the next bump in the hill, resulting in many more cubes making your next trip able to get over that bump without diamonds. But the majority will be for merc equipment. And yes you do unlock them in order. Laire Well-Known Member Feb 4, 2012 586 0 0 Overworked Graphic Designer :) https://www.facebook.com/Peridot.Weapon #18 Laire, Feb 15, 2016 Fair enough. It's just nice to see a game that DOESN'T have a built in "spend $9.99 to double all your currency forever" option. (Which often feels like they determined what a 'fun to progress' amount of currency would be and then cut it in HALF before releasing the game ...) Pyapiopi Well-Known Member Sep 13, 2014 249 0 0 #19 Pyapiopi, Feb 15, 2016 I definitely agree with that. The $1.99 iap ad remover is the perfect type of iap for this genre. indalico Well-Known Member Aug 25, 2011 660 0 16 ohio #20 indalico, Feb 15, 2016 I wouldn't bother selling anything. The game is awfully generous as far as getting a new stack of relics for no cost every hour, so I could pretty much have what I want. Relics offered and level caps were posted on reddit, so that really helped in deciding what to buy.
