+1 to this. 2012 was a really great year for iOS gaming... Starting 2013 with this and some other 2013 releases, this coming year looks promising as well.
I've just received confirmation from the devs that online multiplayer will be asynchronous (something that might be easy to assume, but the cross-platform had me worried, and this would not be the first time a developer had decided to un-revolutionize the genre by releasing an online TBS with only real-time multiplayer ).
Can't wait, they said they would be sending out a newsletter soon with some details and interviews etc
I had the original board game for this but my partner at the time junked it much to my disappointment, looking forward to this very much, best asymmetrical faction based game I've ever played.
I think the different editions of Space Hulk were all quite different, so be prepared to be surprised or shocked, depending on which edition you are conversant with...
http://www.rockpapershotgun.com/2013/03/01/space-hulk-preview/ Interview about the game Edit: after reading that I can't wait, looks like its going to be the autumn, Having things like the option to turn on the dice rolls is a brilliant feature in my book. Only downside is waiting so long
Yeah - we will start sloooowly to release more info as we move forward. Dont want to hype it too early, but also at the same time burning to show you what we are working on. More news soon! /T
iOS screenshots will come a bit later. We will aim at getting as close to PC as possible, but as minimum on the light side we have to dumb it down a bit. One can not use dynamic lights without huge performance hits. We do iPad first. And if possible also iPhone. Depends on how the ingame GUI turns out. If we can reuse it 100%, then its going universal from day 1. Otherwise we have to do a new ingame GUI for phone sized screens. And yes - iPad players will be able to play against/with PC /T
Think "XCOM with 40k units inside Space Hulks" - turn based with action camera and beautiful graphics.
This makes me so very, very sad. I will be absolutely gutted if this comes out as iPad only. Like properly gutted. Like really very unhappy. Like not smiling at all. Like I may possibly kick a puppy. you know, all in all I hope this comes out on iPhone.
haha, I hear you grenadedodger. You know what you could do though? Buy an.. yeah, you know. As an aside, do you think you'll release this for consoles too, Thomas? This sounds like it would be great on the Xbox Live Arcade etc..
