There are a good number of dual-stick shooters, but which ones do you think are the best? Here is my list based on the ones I've played:

    1. SAS: Zombie Assault 3
    2. Monster Shooter: The Lost Levels
    3. Age of Zombies
    4. Deadlock: Online
    5. Call of Mini: Double Shot

Note: The standards of a DSS is that it has two virtual joysticks; one for moving/walking, and the other for aiming/shooting, and is usually in birds-eye view. Also take note that it has to be a SHOOTER.

Infinity Field, Ballistic SE, Inferno+, Alien Space, Mutant Storm, Beat Hazard, Darkside, and the Solomon's games if you want to count them. I feel like I'm missing one or two I really like, but those are the best off the top of my head.

Pocket Rpg, Bug Heroes and Bug Heroes Quest. Violet Storm, Bug Princess. Robokill 1 and 2 are pretty good too.

Bug Panic (my all time favorite)
Solomon's Keep/Boneyard (my all time favorite)
    PewPew 2
    Inferno+

The others people mentioned I also really like..but these are my favorites.

I'm starting to wonder if there's a duals stick shooter that has random loot (aside from Pocket RPG and Robokill).

The original Smash TV in the arcade stood out as one of the first ones out. It was fun.

Max adventure was pretty good for iOS.

Robokill; and there’s something I really liked about Project Phoenix.

Thanks for the reminder on Max Adventure, too—it outputs to TV and I’ve been meaning to get back to it.

Good list, but Fireball SE really isn't a dual-stick shooter. I'd place Inferno+ in it's place. I'd also add:

    Darkside
    Beat Hazard Ultra
    PewPew 2
    Max Adventure
    Age of Zombies

It's hard for me to say which is the best (although I personally think Meteor Blitz is overrated), but I still think I'd put Infinity Field at the top of my list. Pocket RPG is fun and technically dual-stick, but I'm still not sure I'd classify it as a DSS.

Good point. Agreed that Inferno+ should be on the list of top shooters.

  17. It seems like there should be some definition of what a dual stick shooter is....

I always assumed a dual stick shooter was a game with 2 controls, one for moving and one for shooting. Normally, I would say both controls need to have 360 degree control, and there should be some aspect of shooting and destroying something. Maybe it would be nice, whoever made this thread to include a definition in the first post, cause I noticed a couple of games already being named that may not be a true dual stick shooter.

Tomorrow I'll update the list of DSS's(unless my roommates have some crazy thing for me to do) so there won't be any more confusion :).

Minigore and Max Adventure are two of my favorites.
    Solomon titles are great.
    Infinity Field is awesome.
Although overrated Meteor Blitz is good fun.
Haven't played Inferno+ yet but Ballistic SE is good.
Beat Hazard Ultra is really good if you listen to good music.
Mushihimesama BUG PANIC is a really nice hectic take on the genre.
PewPew2 is definitely one of the better titles on the store.
A lot of people love Bug Heroes but I never got too deep into iot. I nett to go back and replay them.
Alive 4Ever Returns is really great.
Project Phoenix always stood out to me.
    iDracula is a classic.
Annihilation Undead is a blast to play.

  20. Wow, I'm surprised this number of people have replied in this topic so far, thanks!
