http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4hiczWWlsJw just watch this psp game... [hqyoutube]4hiczWWlsJw[/hqyoutube] when will have the same quality ? what you think ?
I hope they make an iPod Touch that good. Although, I heard there would be an HD one coming soon this next year. Is that right?
Where's the source for that information? Mine is from: http://www.hardcoreware.net/graphics-specs-compare-iphone-3gs-to-psp-to-ds/
i have a psp and 4 or 5 "quality games". half the games on the psp are really really bad. 2009 and 2010 might change that, with AC, LBP, MS, MGS, etc the app store has a lot of great portable games, but it is also filled with a ton of crap
Correction it has better prices period. There are non casual games on the iphone, and ton with better quality and lower price than some junk on PSP or DS.
"iPhone developers, however, have discovered that the iPhone 3GS has extension files named "IMGSGX535GLDriver" suggesting that the new iPhone uses the more powerful graphics processor intended for "high end" mobile devices. This may not be entirely conclusive evidence by itself but it is consistent with a report from a Anandtech commenter who claims to have heard directly from Apple engineers at WWDC that the iPhone 3GS does indeed use the SGX 535." http://www.macrumors.com/2009/06/25/iphone-3gs-has-more-powerful-powervr-sgx-535-gpu/
You're right they have some longer games, but i'd i still take the iPhone over PSP any day, especially with the small devs that make great games and care about customers
Agreed. That's why I've noticed that I've been playing my iPod rarely, even though I have an entire stash of the most popular games installed. I believe the iPhone has potential, but doesn't compete with the DSi or PSP; maybe with the PSP Go. We'll see.
I'd take iPhone over PSP any day because I always have it with me plus I don't look like a nerd playing it in public. It's a convergence device at its finest.
You can't honestly expect to compare software from a long running platform to one that was just launched a year ago, and remember the iPhone launched as a phone, not as a mobile gaming platform.
These threads keep on popping in again and again. It's just wrong to compare numbers between the PSP and iPhone and expect them to have any relation to the real world performance. Theoretical polygon throughput of any 3D chip is always limited by the other features of the hardware, like memory bandwidth, local vs. shared memory etc. PSP has the edge over the original iPhone in polygon throughput, fillrate and memory bandwidth. As a combination of those factors, you see games running at 60fps on PSP which struggle at 15-30fps on the iPhone. How the 3GS fits into all this is a bit too soon to say. It's certainly quicker than the original iPods, and shaders are a very nice addition. Even then, the thing holding all iPhone games back is not the hardware (even the original hardware) but the marketplace and its tendency to favor $1 games. Debating over which hardware is superior is moot if it doesn't make financial sense to push the limits.
if i want casual games in my iphone i use gpsphone ! + the iphone games are so good and fun ! 5 min of gameplay is all i need
